Lykaon
King Lykaon of Arcadia
Ancient King of Arcadia, and the ancestor of all Werewolves.
Lykaon was a devout worshipper of Kybele. In order to avenge an insult paid to Kybele by Zeus, he killed his youngest son, Nyctimus, and tried to feed his flesh to Zeus. Furious at the blasphemy, Zeus struck Lykaon down.
With his last breath, Lykaon prayed to Kybele, who resurrected him in the form of one of her sacred animals, the wolf.
However, Kybele's gift drove Lykaon mad, and he turned on his family. Many were killed, but some survived, and carried the curse in their blood, becoming werewolves.
The exact dates of his reign are unknown, but he is believed by werewolf genealogists to have lived in approximately the 12th Century BCE.
The Hale Family, like other Guardian packs, claim to be his direct decendants.
