Oentrus Code

Symbols used by Werewolves in Europe and Western Asia for centuries to communicate between Packs without needing to actually meet. This is both to facilitate communication without risking territory disputes, and for nomadic packs to leave messages for one another.

The symbols are deliberately simple, so that they can be drawn with claws or paws, and can easily be marked in dirt or on trees where they can be easily erased once read.

They were deliberately designed to not resemble symbols from any European or Near Eastern language (extant at the time of its creation).

The system is named after Oentrus, although there is no evidence that he had any involvement in its creation.
Common Phrases
Spiral - when left in a rival pack's territory, a declaration of a vendetta
Sword - hunters active in area
Acorn - Druids in the area
