Issuing a Challenge
All
creatures in
Ohma have access to the following ability:
Action - A
creature within
30 feet of you must accept a
Black Bird's Challenge or roll a
death saving throw.
Accepting The Challenge
When a
creature accepts your
Black Bird's Challenge:
- If the location is undecided, roll on the common battle map table to determine where the challenge will be resolved.
- Your target places themselves anywhere on the battle map.
- Any allies of your target that noticed them accept the challenge may place themselves anywhere on the battle map.
- You and your allies place yourselves anywhere on the battle map that is at least 30 feet away from your enemies.
- Roll initiative.
When only one side is left
standing, they are declared the
victor.
Rejecting a Challenge
If you wish to be a
coward and reject a
challenge, you lose half your
ONTAP and suffer additional consequences depending on the nature of the challenge. The only exception is if you are already in a
Black Bird's Challenge, in which case you may not accept any other
challenges until your current
challenge is resolved.
The Black Bird Cube
While participating in a
Black Bird's Challenge, you are in a
pocket dimension that prevents all
communication with other
planes. This
pocket dimension takes the form of a
battle map, magically created with the same
weather and
environment as where the
Black Bird's Challenge was declared.
For the
first 3 rounds of
combat the edges of the
battle map are
impassable. Starting in the
4th round of
combat, anyone who exits the
combat cube teleports back to where they were before the
challenge.
A duel for glory...
