Combat in Ohma

Back to What's New in Ohma

Armor Points (AP)

There are many new abilities that allow you to gain Armor Points (AP), which represent how well you are currently protected during each round of combat. Whenever you receive damage while you have AP, you first lose AP instead of hit points. Your AP is set to 0 at the beginning of your turn.

Facing

Which direction you're facing has never mattered more! The optional combat rules for facing are in effect, so every creature may only see in the direction they are facing. You may freely change which direction you're facing as part of your movement on your turn, and you may also change which direction you're facing once at the beginning of any reaction.

Backstab

Whenever a creature is attacked from behind, it receives double the usual damage. Watch your back!

Combat Cube

The Raven Queen enjoys the theater of combat, and prefers the actors stay on stage when performing. In the world of Ohma, every fight takes place on a battle map, and for as long as combat lasts a massive invisible cube surrounds the battlefield (typically extending 50 feet above and 20 feet below the dimensions of the battle map). Any creature that leaves the battle map is considered a loser and is unable to reenter the battle. The cube prevents anything outside of it from harming anything inside of it, though creatures that have yet to flee the battle may still enter.

The game has changed, but the players are the same.
