Mechanics & Inner Workings

Ashikodo's main claim to fame is its one but very dangerous Enchantment;

• The tragedy of the Painter's Wife is the only Enchantment embedded in the blade and serves to destabilize the enemy by invoking immense fear and paranoia in them once cut by its blade. It is rumored that Kanashimi Akio became very paranoid and frantic in his older years and this was picked up by the sword and now redistributed to all of its victims. Take when handling the weapon for it does not make the distinction between Master and Enemy.

Significance

The Ashikodo is 1 of the Maō-ko Kurafuto (魔王子クラフト), 52 Swords made by the Demon Prince, Kanashimi Akio. Kanashimi was a gifted Blacksmith and Sorcerer but he was a deeply depressed and sad man, one who suffered the loss of both his wife and infant child. As such, all 52 of the Maō-ko Kurafuto (魔王子クラフト) were infused with this great man's agony and tragedy.
The Ashikodo is No. 03 of the Maō-ko Kurafuto (魔王子クラフト) and was considered Kanashimi's more "average" works. However, even though Kanashimi parted with almost every blade of the Maō-ko Kurafuto (魔王子クラフト), he never let the Ashikodo leave his side until the day he died, making it the closest to his heart and the one filled with the most agony.
