Fire Spirits

Playing with fire is bad for those who burn themselves. For the rest of us, it is a very great pleasure.

The Fire Spirits come in two forms, the Fire Spirits who are more nomadic in nature but tend to stay near the rainforest, and then the Firespirits who all live near the volcano of their homeland and do not care of the original bodies opting instead to embrace their ability to possess the bodies of others.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fire Spirits vary in appearance as widely as the ranges of fire do. Most have pointy ears, red or mottled horns on the brow, and hair that flickers and waves as if it were aflame. Some possess skin the colour of polished brass or have charcoal-hued scales covering their arms and legs. Fire Spirits favour revealing and ostentatious clothing in bright oranges and reds, preferably paired with gaudy jewellery.

• Firespirits who have a tendency to possess others have to have a body that can withstand the high temperatures of the fiery core.

• Must possess a mortal.
• After body death, they have 72 hours to possess a new host or they permanently die.
• When two Firespirits have a child, the gestation is same as mortals if not a little faster, the child is born with a body similar to those of the host's bodies. This is their first original body and it can be killed as easily as any normal child but they can be moved to a new body to save them.
• All Firespirits have green eyes.
• The Firespirit gene is dominant.

Common Myths and Legends

The legend goes that if a fire demon's heart is ripped from his chest in battle it must be thrown into the fire to prevent the demon from coming back to life. Thus a spirit is born. They have the form of a cloud of smoke first. At birth, they are to take their temporary body or a child to be able to learn like a human or any other demon would. At the age of 13, they are to leave the body before they are bound to them forever and have to live off them or die. If the spirit is to not take a body he will forever live as a cloud of smoke they have 3 years to live once they leave their teen body to take on another. Either way, the spirit must take a human form sometime in those three years. Once they take an adult body they are to stay in the body unless needed to swap bodies. And if a body is destroyed, they have 3 days to find another, or they will fade away and die.
