Regartfael (Ray-gar-fay-el)

Named for the house crest of the ruling family, the vast kingdom of Regarfael is located on the southern continent. Settlment started on the bay, but soon expanded from the coast line. Borders have shifted over time, at one time being bordered by the nearest river, then by the Belt, a mountain range that splits the land in two, and then finally stretching to the east coast. The lands controlled by Regarfael are commonly divided into two major areas West Belt and East Belt. East Belt is split further by the Fen River, connecting Deep Fen to the Asphasian Sea. Cut off from the capital, cities in East Belt consider their prosperity and safety come from their local headsmen and governors, rather than the king, though steal swear loyalty to the royal family. This sentiment is not shared by the Fenfolk, a tribe of people living the marshes of Deep Fen. The Fenfolk are rarely seen by Regarfaelians, and in West Belt have been cast as folk tales.
