Orlondë
Orlondë (Elvish, "grains of gold") is a cereal grain grown throughout Scalados. It is a relative of barley high in protein, fiber, and vitamins, which can also be ground almost as finely as wheat. It is commonly ground into flour and used in breads, pastries and noodles. It is also a key ingredient in malted beverages, most notably distilled into Elvish whiskey.
History
According to legend, orlondë was a gift from the god Dagda, given to the elves at the dawn of the Age of Integrity as a promise from the Wild Dynasty that they would allow mortals to prosper once again. The first pearls of orlondë ever harvested are still preserved at the Ruiménya-in-Dagda temple-campus.
