Tiara of Titania

The Tiara of Titania is one of the crown jewels of Cantonova. It has belonged to House Almaviva since its creation in Y960.

History

John-Emile Almaviva (Count Almaviva X) had a passion for arts and design, and worked with various jewelers and tailors across Cantonova to create gifts for his wife and daughters, some of which are still in the collection of crown jewels. He worked with moon elven jewelers to create the Tiara of Titania, whose design evokes traditional moon elven motifs, and presented it to his wife Countess Alessandra Almaviva, on their twentieth wedding anniversary. She wore the tiara regularly at major events until her death in Y989.   Though the Tiara of Titania remained in the collection of crown jewels for years, it was rarely worn by later countesses and contessas until Rosina Almaviva wore it for her wedding to Geoffrey Almaviva (Count Almaviva XIV). It has remained a favorite of hers since then, appearing in her official court portrait and at many social and diplomatic events.

The tiara is designed with a lotus flower motif and arches that evoke the architecture of Urbana al-Sona. It is made of 24-carat white gold, seventeen oval-cut emeralds, and nearly 2,600 diamonds. It is not known to have any particular magical properties, despite the use of elven jewelrymaking techniques. Alessandra Almaviva was known as a particularly calm and insightful negotiator in the Council of Wargraves, as is Countess Rosina; the subtle influence of this crown's emeralds may bolster those abilities.
