Rosina Almaviva
Countess Rosina Almaviva is a Moon Elf, and the Countess of Cantonova.
She was born to Baron Don Bartolo Giocoso and Baroness Donna Constanza Giocoso, minor nobles of the Obsidian Cove region of Malakar, in Y1002. She is six minutes older than her twin sister, Isabella Giocoso. In Y1094, she was sent to Cantonova to marry Alfonso Verdini in exchange for a handsome dowry for her family. However, she broke the engagement and met Count Geoffrey Almaviva shortly afterwards.

I wish him nothing but peace and enlightenment, and happiness with a woman who is perhaps better-matched for his particular quirks than I."House Almaviva, the Human royal family who has led the Free City since the Treaty of Cantonova was signed, had never had an elf in direct line for the throne. The prospect concerned some of the non-elven citizenry, particularly because young Rosina was likely to outlive Count Almaviva by centuries. A petition began in the Council of Wargraves to prevent her marriage to the Count, spearheaded by the recently appointed Wargrave Sir Despard of House of Murgatroyd. However, overwhelming popular support of Rosina forced Murgatroyd to withdraw the petition, and Rosina married Geoffrey Almaviva in Y1098. Their wedding ceremony had to be held at the Royal Phoenix Theater to accommodate the over 3,000 guests; afterwards, an estimated 100,000 people viewed their wedding processional. The Wedding Dress of Rosina Almaviva quickly became one of the most famous garments in the world. Nearly two decades later, it still informs Cantonovan fashion; pink remains the most popular color for wedding gowns within the city. Countess Rosina Almaviva quickly became known throughout the city for her kindness, her wit, and her great love of fashion and the arts. She has served on the Royal Arts Commission of Cantonova since her coronation as Countess. In particular, she is a fan of opera, commissioning a number of new works through the Royal Arts Commission. Countess Almaviva has been notably absent from public life since the 2 March Y1111 death of Count Almaviva after a boat christening ceremony at the Royal Cantonova Yacht Club. Rumors of her death, though widespread, remain unconfirmed.
