Zuggtmoy

Zuggtmoy, Lady of Rot, is the demon queen of fungi and decay who inhabits the Death Dells, deep within The Abyss. She is the consort of Yeenoghu. The two despise each other, but are symbiotic entities, as her mind-controlling spores lure prey into his lair and his predators leave carcasses for her colonies of mold and slime to devour.
The myriad forms of Zuggtmoy are alien and unnatural, maddening to look upon. She can wrap herself around a structure, crawl along ceilings, or spread herself out into a thin layer of slime mold hundreds of feet wide. The form she most often takes to deal with mortals is similar to a tall, slender, elegant woman, with the hood of a mushroom in place of hair and long tendrils for arms. There are no feet under what appears to be her gown; rather, she slithers along like a slug on a single pseudopod trunk.
The spores of Zuggtmoy float upwards through the Abyss, even sometimes traveling on the wind to other planes of existence. These spores can infect and corrupt creatures of all kinds: not only humanoid mortals, but also Fey, Elementals, Dragons, and even celestials, who are usually destroyed by the influx of demonic energy. Those affected by her spores experience stupors, hallucinations, and visions of the end of days and the end of the gods. They often find themselves compelled to start cults that spread prophecies of doom and brew potions from their infected blood to share their visions with others. Some of the Druidic Circles of Spores on the Material Plane are in fact cults dedicated to Queen Zuggtmoy, though other Circles of Spores are entirely unrelated and often opposed to the demon-worshipping branches of the philosophy.
