Drake Island

Large island on the west of the pirate islands. It is divided, politically - the northeastern coast is claimed by Vinar, directly; the southern tip is an independent duchy, with complicated allegiance to Ottovilla and Pallas; the west is a free city, that is pervaded by outside powers - mainly from Lenay, Bayport and the Kingdom. Here indeed, much of the actual land is claimed by foreign powers - though this is less productive than some of the other islands. It is more of a way station - though there are significant sugar and coffee productions here. The factions here usually keep a relative stability, though at time, there are disputes. There is a lot of empty space onthe coasts here, some of which included reasonable harbors - thus can be used as a shelter for pirates.
