Dragons are mythical creatures that have captivated the imagination of people for centuries. In most cultures in Ordrul , dragons are considered to be powerful and intelligent beings that possess immense magical powers. These creatures are often depicted as fire-breathing beasts that can fly and have tough scales that make them invulnerable to most weapons. In the world of dragons, two beings stand out - Vol and Tantis . Vol is known as the crystal dragon of justice, and every dragon holds a shard of Vol in its heart. He is considered to be the god of the dragons and embodies the virtues of honor, justice, and courage.
On the other hand, Tantis is the five-headed dragon of wrath and embodies the vices of greed, rage, and destruction. He has corrupted most dragons, and the shards of Vol that once protected them have shattered due to the constant state of rage and anger that Tantis has inflicted upon them. Tantis is known to cause chaos and destruction wherever he goes and is feared by all.
The rivalry between Vol and Tantis has been going on for centuries. While Vol seeks to protect the dragons and instill in them a sense of honor and justice, Tantis seeks to corrupt them and turn them into ruthless warriors that will serve his every whim. The shards of Vol are the only protection against Tantis, and those dragons that have managed to keep them intact remain loyal to Vol's cause.
Despite their differences, Vol and Tantis have one thing in common - their immense power. The dragons of this world are no ordinary creatures and possess magical abilities that are beyond the comprehension of most mortals. Whether they are serving the cause of justice or causing destruction, dragons are a force to be reckoned with.

Fallen and true dragons

On their birth all dragons are born with a shard embedded in their hearts. Known as a "splinter of Vol ". This crystal amplified the natural magical abilities and let them warp their resprective elements to their will. The dragons became known as beings of great magic and wisdom, revered and respected by all other creatures in the world. Tantis is known to be the first which shattered his shard due is continued hatred and wrath. He discovered that this freed his perspective on the world and did not force to be only guided by justice. It might have reduced his powers in the beginning but over time he discovered that not beeing bound by morals and the weak ones, led to even more power.
He started to torture other dragons embed the with wrath and thus shattered their shards which corrupted them to his sight. Over the years he corrupted many dragons which did the same as well. These dragons became known as the fallen dragons. The remaining dragons were known to be the true dragons. The issue was that the fallen dragons torture their offspring right after birth and sometimes even in their eggs which corrupted them even before their birth. Thus, the number of fallen dragons rose while the number of true dragons only declined over time.
In the last years before the Split, fallens dragons almost exclusively live in Ordrul. Only few true dragons still loyal to Vol live in the world.

Anatomy

Biological Traits

Most dragons distinct themselves based on the dominant color of their scale. They call themselves red, green, black or blue dragon. These four colors are the most dominant ones. However all kinds of blends are also known to be created if differently colored dragons mate.
Before the near extinction of the dragons tales report also even more colors. Most historians agree that the colors silver, gold and bronce became extinct. More specials taints like glowing, bicolor, translucent are only propagated by some historians.

Growth Rate & Stages

• dragons are birthed in an egg
• they grow over the course of 10 years to adulthood and reach a height of about 5-10 meters
•  after that they still grow but way slower, however due to their infinite life span theoretically there is no limit for the seize of a dragon
• Their ability to breath fire increase also over time. The older the dragon the hotter the flame. Also the flame changes color based on the temperature.

While they can't talk actually talk they have great telepathical strength and can talk by this directly into the head of nearby living creatures. Therefore, they can also talk to animals.

Dragons favor the same scale color as their own by a mate. There always have beem exceptions to this rule but most just like their own color the best.

History

Recent history in Lemotion 

In old times dragons were the most formidable warriors in all of Lemotion. They were bred and used as huge war machines in the front row of every row. Due to their effectivness in war a central strategy in every war was to destroy the dragon breeding stations of the enemy. Over time the number of Dragon in tthe wilderness dwindeled than the captive dragons couldn't keep up with the number of deaths and became extinct some hundreds years ago.
Actually only a lot of people believe the dragons to be extinct. They live currently with about 1000 of their race under the protection of the Trolls in Tomolon. They provide their knowledge and magical ability to the trolls while they protect them and hide their secret.

Common Myths and Legends

It is believed that there might be a way to revert the process of shattering the shards of Vol  and restore the dragons to their former glory. According to ancient dragon lore, there is a mystical spring hidden deep within the mountains, which is said to possess the power to purify corrupted dragon souls. The water are the tears of Vol which resides inside the mountain are is saddend by the corruption of his kind.
The ritual itself is also said to be incredibly complex and can only be performed by a dragon that possesses an unshattered shard of Vol. The dragon must meditate and focus their energies on the shard, allowing its pure essence to spread throughout their being and push back the corrupting influence of Tantis. The ritual is not without its risks, as the dragon must willingly open themselves up to the shard's power, which can be overwhelming and potentially fatal. But for those willing to undertake the journey and perform the ritual, the rewards are said to be immeasurable, as the restored dragons become beacons of hope and purity in a world that desperately needs it.
