King Alvarian 'The Bastard King' of Farraige
King Alvarian of Farraige was the legitimised bastard son of Queen Mother Alessia and the last ruler of the House of Eleras before its fall during the coup of 168IE. His birth was shrouded in mystery, as Alessia never publicly revealed the identity of his father. The circumstances of his birth as a royal bastard inevitably shaped his early life and later reign. His short and turbulent reign was marked by political instability, internal dissent, and ultimately, the collapse of his dynasty.

Personal history
Raised within the royal court of Fairesoir, Alvarian's early years were marked by both privilege and prejudice. Although he was the son of a princess, his illegitimacy cast a shadow over his status, even after he was naturalised by his grandfather King Elvar. Court politics in Farraige were particularly unforgiving, and Alvarian's lineage made him a target for rival factions who sought to undermine his future claim to the throne. His mother, Alessia, fiercely protected him, ensuring that he received the finest education and training befitting a prince. Despite the stigma of his birth, Alvarian excelled in his studies, demonstrating a keen intellect and a natural aptitude for leadership.
As he grew older, Alvarian's status as a bastard remained a point of contention among the nobility. However, Alessia's influence and the loyalty she commanded within the court helped shield her son from the worst of these challenges. Alvarian's close relationship with his mother played a significant role in his development, as she instilled in him a sense of duty and resilience that would later define his reign.
Alvarian ascended to the throne in 165IE following the death of his father. His reign began under difficult circumstances. The Farraigian nobility, weakened by internal divisions and the loss of territory to Holzreich, was divided on how to rebuild the kingdom's strength. Alvarian, though young and inexperienced, attempted to consolidate power and restore stability to the realm.
King Alvarian's reign was marked by numerous challenges. The kingdom's economy was in decline and Alvarian faced growing unrest among the lower classes, who were disillusioned with the ruling elite and suffering under increased taxation and economic hardship.
Alvarian's attempts to reform the government and military met with resistance from powerful noble families, many of whom saw him as an ineffective leader and at times openly questioned his legitimacy. His reliance on a small circle of advisors, many of whom were perceived as corrupt, further alienated him from the broader nobility and populace.
In 168IE, Alvarian's reign came to a violent end during the coup led by Alayana of Farraige, also known as Valendeira. The coup was the culmination of years of discontent and political maneuvering by Alayana, who had gained the support of a significant portion of the Farraigian military and nobility.
Alvarian's death marked the end of the House of Eleras's rule over Farraige and the beginning of a new era under Queen Alayana. His short and tragic reign is often remembered as a period of decline and turmoil, ultimately leading to the fall of Farraige's founding dynasty.
