Celestial Convergence
An important event to decide the fate of Oros.
The Timaeian Calendar is the global calendar of Oros and has 12 gods representing each month. However there are thousands of gods worshipped across the globe and not all of them can have a month dedicated to them. Timaeus- Master of Wisdom in order to allow change in the calender, created the event known as the Celestial Convergence.
Every 80 years on the 6th month of the year, islands known as Idelglenes will appear in the center of the world, between Aedorica, Rodinia and Nakamudo. It is here that the nations of the world will send their migthiest to compete for the month of the year.
Each time the islands rise, the Event is random every time to bring fairness and randomness to it. Sometimes it could be a tournament, team battles, alchemy, spell battles, hunts, fighting legendary creatures, etc. The Event could be anything. Nations prepare decades in advance for this event and all the planning could be useless depending on the event. This also allows any nation or person to partake.
Participants all around the globe will venture to this island to partake in the Celestial Convergence. After some time, the event will be announced and until the completion of the event, no one will be able to leave the island or enter. The event can last from a few days to a few months. But never past the 12th month of the year. Participants also cannot harm each other outside of the event and while on the island. There can only be one victor, even if it's a team event. The victor will get to choose the new month and the month that will be removed in it's place. The month will be added to the next year and for the next 80 years will stay this way.
Although anyone can partake. Individuals without a backing are often targeted and easy to destroy, nations will strike at the vessels entering the island and build alliances to ensure victory or mitigate loss. And in the event that a individual without backing is the victor and chooses a month, they will be hated by the other participants and parties and gain the disdain of several nations, which often strike at you after leaving the safety of the island to return home. Although anyone can partake. It typically is only done by powerful nations.
The Celestial Convergence is a chance for followers of their god to prove their utmost devotion, by fighting to maintain or establish their god in the year. Gods that gain a month are increased in their powers. It is an important event for all parties, where power and status can be gained, maintained or lost.
The last Celestial Convergence was in the year 14927 AC and the victor of that was King Nuñe "Warrior King" of Hispania, to where he removed the month of Morr- God of Blood and reinstated the month of Holactie - The Creator of Light.
The next Celestial Convergence will be in the year 15007 AC.
