The Moranneon

The Moranneon, also called the Mossweald, is one of Orphan’s thirteen splinters. It is a massive forest “sea,” where fireflies flit among ancient, gnarled trees festooned with mosses and luminescent fungi. The Moranneon’s deepest reaches are home to enormous animals and towering trees whose canopies blot out the sun. Humans of the sylvan bloodline, while not exclusive to the Moranneon, are found there in greater concentrations than anywhere else in the world.   The Moranneon defies mapping—not only is it vast and overgrown, it is also jealously guarded by its native tribes, rallied by the Cyramnor and united in their desire to protect their home.   The eastern Moranneon, where Belhacint has established numerous logging camps and villages, is a theater of war. The Order of Cyramnor periodically descends on these encampments to raze them and reclaim the land for the forest, and each time Belhacint retaliates by slashing and burning. As a result, the border between forest and frontier is always shifting. The Cyramnor forces are badly outnumbered, but they know the land, and their guerrilla tactics have proven very effective.   The Moranneon is linked by pharos routes to the Andarine Sea and Windreach.
