High Lantern Bearer Elys Vanderbern (a.k.a. Seeker)
Elys is the current High Lantern Bearer of the Order of the Lantern. He is a rich and savvy Marger Frisian merchant as well. On the outside, he runs a successful winery. On the inside, he oversees his Order of the Lantern with discerning eyes and caution.
He is a dedicated man and can be pleasant to be around if you are not suspect for anything. He is just and fair and tries to instill some of his sense of justice into the duties of his Lantern Bearers.

General Physical Condition
Ely is old, but far from frail. His years of being High Lantern Bearer of have led to him being in an office and dealing with paperwork more than he would like however, so he is showing signs of age.
Facial Features
Ely always seems to be judging and jockeying with his eyes. This tends to make individuals dealing with him uncomfortable.
Special abilities
He has vast abilities to manipulate the Elan to dispel and see through illusions.
Apparel & Accessories
Vanderbern is in possession of "the First Lantern," considered the oldest and most powerful of the Lanterns. If it were sitting on the shelf, it would be unrecognizable as anything more than an old, rusting iron lantern. It holds immense power and Elys does everything he can to keep it safe and only uses it when absolutely neccessary.

Personal history
Elys took over the van der Bern Winery in northern Frisia when his father was too old to continue running it. It has continued to produce many famous wines including Ansel White and Frisian Kervaner.
When Elys was just starting his career as the head of the Vanderbern family and master vintner, he was approached by a long time family friend, Bishop Nighel Siegers approached him with an offer to join the Order of the Lantern. Elys immediately accepted being a devout Ametrian. Having run into some Void beasts in the woods near his home in Vijlin in his youth and barely escaping with his life, he understood the dangers of the Void.
Little did Vanderbern know, Siegers was the High Lantern Bearer and Elys was chosen and being groomed as his successor. Siegers was a Marger Frisian and was concerned the next High Lantern Bearer was going to be from elsewhere, thus diminishing the Merchant League's power.
When Elys had served for over three decades in the Order of the Lantern, Siegers finally was on his death bed and the Order's high council unanimously voted to elevate Elys to this position.
Vanderbern has served as High Lantern Bearer ever since and he is on his tenth year.

Religious Views
Elys is obviously a heavily religious Ametrian given his station. He is not afraid to speak up when his religion is challenged, but knows when to not wear his religion or station on his sleeve.
The Ameterian Church and The Creator Himself have chosen me to root out the Void and root it out I shall; whether it be through politics, religion, or might.
