Lachen
The main town of Fribourg and the capital of Argau, Lachen is situated on the western mountainside of the Heissermount. Boasting an incredibly defensive location, some say the town is impossible to take despite its relatively small population for a capital. The town itself is built along and into the side of the mountain and its terraced streets and rustic architecture with its whitewashed wood buildings with large wooden beams is a famous winter retreat for nobles everywhere.
