House Gribbleglub
House Gribbleglub is a noble house of Grung, based primarily in the capital of Holy Republic of Ligira, Zaru. The House is led by their partiarch, Jung Gribbleglub, though their public image and outreach are typically overseen by the patriarch's wife, Gribba Gribbleglub. Gribba is a mage of The Congregation of Memories. Little is known of Gribba, despite her presence within the public sphere. However, in her rulings and presiding, she is known to be stern and unforgiving, and favors conservative legislation and rulings; those who know her personally would oft have similar remarks on her demeanor.
Culture
While House Gribbleglub is a patrilineal House, women are typically more public-facing and are perceived as holding the majority of influence and power within the House. However, succession is determined patrilineally. As such, filial piety—a deep reverence paid to one's parents, both mother and father—underpins the workings of the House.
Public Agenda
As an upper-class and ruling family of Ligira, House Gribbleglub is frequently in the public eye; grung are far less common in major cities, meaning they are under far more scrutiny than a typical upper-class or high-visibility family. As such, they maintain an image of utmost perfection, posturing themselves as being superior to other Ligirans. History
House Gribbleglub first came into prominence in the early 5th century, when an evil force commonly known as The Great Unknown threatened Osun; strange plagues and natural disasters had been killing thousands, and strange dark clouds loomed overhead during each resurgence of illness or devastating weather. Gor'kek Gribbleglub is said to have slain The Great Unknown—perhaps a wizard or a lich, perhaps a fiend or evil deity—and restored peace to the lands. Gor'kek was thus sworn in as a noble lord of the emerging nation of Ligira, and the House has remained an important part of the Ligiran political sphere ever since.
