The Traveler's Curse

And so this land was placed under what is called The Traveler's Curse, to prevent any civilization of size ever taking root within this land ever again.  -Iskandar
The party only has a conceptual understanding of the Traveler's Curse, as explained in bits and pieces by Fork, Vita, and Iskandar.   Functionally, it seems to make navigating the continent of Xen'Drik difficult if not impossible.  Locations and paths change, and exploration of the region seems to amount to nothing more than wandering.  Iskandar suggests that flight makes navigation of the continent far simpler, although any meaningful searching needs to be below the jungle canopy, and the party as a whole cannot rely on flight.     The party has noted that objects in the distance seem to shift or move, and that travelling towards something does not necessarily get you closer.  By relying on the Seeker's Compass, which spun and shifted constantly despite the party's attention, they believe they've made some progress through the region; although it is nigh impossible to tell if they would not have ended up here anyway.
