Session 26: Nuts and Bolts

The party introduces themselves to their new metal friend, and are attacked by an even larger one in the main room.

The New Model

Fork recognized the warforged as Septimus, an old ally of his and Bulgey. However, he looked brand new, as opposed to worn and aged as he had known him. This warforged explained to the party that it had no memory of before awakening just now, and as such wasn't sure if he was their previous acquaintance. He accepted the name of Septimus for the time being, and the party attempted to find a way out of the room.   Identifying a panel at the door out, Tilly called Septimus forward to see if he could get any reaction from it. He seems quite capable of interfacing with the panel, and only takes a moment before the large door out to the main room opens. Any opportunity to explore the changes that the newly powered systems bring is cut short however, as the sounds of something large stomping towards the party draws all of their attention.  

A Bull in a China Shop

Initially spreading out in preparation for a fight, the party found themselves confronted by one of the massive war machines from the side room. Its power was made apparent when it felled one of the large columns that were spread about the room, nearly injuring some of the party with the debris.   Keeping their distance, or remaining pillars between themselves and the machine, seemed a prudent strategy. The party, keeping an ear out for any more adversaries approaching, whittled the thing down using ranged attacks. Therrik utilized his faerie fire, while Brian gave his new gem of brightness a spin, keeping the creature distracted and weakened. The party eventually took it down, although not before it gave Therrik a serious thrashing.   As the party gathered themselves, Kerani and Bulgey approached from the far side of the room, having finally tracked down the rest of the party.
