The Order of the Green Cloak
Overview
The Order of the Green Cloak is a secret force rising from the lower classes in the Kingdom of Éirigh, lead by the True Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir. They seek to put an end to the unfairness of The Feudal Alliance System, and place Finn back upon his rightful throne. Currently, they are trapped in a holding pattern, struggling to gain enough support to win aid from King Jonathan V without putting Finn's life at risk by revealing his survival too soon.
Structure
As a secret organization, only those that have pledged themselves to the order truly know the structure of the Green Cloaks. Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir (Finn) is their leader, and who they hope to place upon the throne, but his time as a commoner has shown him the wisdom of his people, and the importance of collaboration to achieve inclusion and equality. Because of this, the Green Cloaks operate much like the round table of Arthurian legend here on Earth, where his allies have the ability to voice their minds and affect his decisions.
Sir Dílis Amaladh is Finn's right hand man, acting as his second and most trusted advisor. Beside him stands Lady Sinè Sadach as the head of strategy, and eventually she will become the captain of their most elite guerrilla troop, responsible for carrying out small, incisive extractions and mercenary hits. The primary forces behind the Green Cloaks are the Foremans that have joined the order, rallying the Tenants of their towns and hamlets to prepare. The first of these was Uchtach Cathasach, who was lost in The Burning of Muintir along with his people. Currently, the most notable Foreman of the order is Rún Gníomhaire of Ceapach. Through the end of Book One and beginning of Book Two in OUTSPOKEN, Lucian "Deordhan" Cathasach, Caillte Dochtuir, and Philipe "Pip" Misneach become major players in the Order as well.
The Order of the Green Cloak has a silent ally in King Jonathan V of The Kingdom of Coimeádach, who will supply the aid necessary for success if Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir can rally enough support from his people. Because of this, the Order is trapped in a holding pattern until they can gain more local supporters. In the meantime, Finn and the Order do what they can to protect their people from The New Order's brutal attacks.
Culture
The Order of the Green Cloak is an open minded and collaborative collective, who work to ensure that every voice is heard. Their primary goal is to make the Kingdom of Éirigh a safer and more peaceful land once again, with a focus on protecting the lower classes.
Two of their most valued members (Lady Sinè Sadach and Lucian "Deordhan" Cathasach) are Deaf and mute, and communicate primarily through The Language of Hands. There is a broad variety of genders and sexual orientations throughout the Order, including prominent trans, genderfluid, and pansexual members.
Public Agenda
To remove The Máirtín Royal Family from power, along with the cruel and power hungry Lairds that have all but ruined the kingdom. They wish to place the True Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir of The Slánaitheoir Royal Family on his rightful throne, where he will work to protect and elevate the lower classes, putting an end to The Feudal Alliance System.
Assets
The whole-hearted belief and faith of their people, a wealth of commoners committed to secretly training to join Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir's army, and the conditional support of King Jonathan V of The Kingdom of Coimeádach.
History
Many claim that the Order of the Green Cloak was actually founded by Sir Éalaigh Casey when he gave his life to rescue Prince Finnlay Slánaitheoir during The First Great Dynastic Shift. When Finn escaped to The Kingdom of Coimeádach, shortly followed by The Burning of Muintir, the Order all but vanished into rumors and legends until his return four years later. Since then, it has grown quickly despite its secretive nature, giving them a fighting chance to take the kingdom back.
