The Dawn's Crown soldiers are given training in heavier armors, usually medium armors like scale mail.

Tactics

The Dawn's Crown soldiers are those not bonded to a dragon (by choice or otherwise) who still wanted to serve their nation. During wartime they act as foot soldiers, focusing enemy resources on not being overrun while Dragon Riders assault from above. During peacetime they act as city guards, patrolling the streets and keeping crime at a minimum.

Training

The Dawn's Crown soldiers are not required to take the Exemplar tests, however those who wish to rise to higher positions are required to take a modified version in order to prove their ability.
