History

Owned by soldiers and explorers of times past, old and rusted weapons abound in the land. Some, however, come to absorb the natural energy of the land that they lay in. These rare weapons can be cleaned of dirt and rust to reveal that they have been transformed. Blessed by elements in old forests, abandoned fields, and high mountains of the world, weapons that turn into Nature's Thorns are imbued with latent magical energy from the world itself. The mossy green glowing lines are sometimes visible beneath a layer of rust. No one is sure how the metal turns to silver but these rare weapons are well worth the effort to find them.

Nature's Thorns weapons gain an extra 1d4 of piercing damage on a successful hit, the glowing green lines on the silvery metal bursting out like thorns to deal the additional damage before retracting once again.   Once per day, you may plunge a Nature's Thorns type weapon into the ground to conjure Wall of Thorns. This wall will fill a space up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 5 feet thick immediately in front of where the weapon was plunged into the ground. When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 7d8 piercing damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. A creature can move through the wall, albeit slowly and painfully. For every 1 foot a creature moves through the wall, it must spend 4 feet of movement. Finally, entering the wall or ending your turn in the wall requires a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. It takes 7d8 slashing damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
