Rusted Weapons

Written by ElijahHemlock

The Rusted Weapons can be any kind of metal based weapon.   Abandoned to the elements, these weapons have been eaten away and covered in rust. Until cleaned up and repaired, slashing and piercing weapons deal half damage on a successful attack plus 1d4 poison damage. Bludgeoning weapons are unaffected by this. However, all weapons have a chance to break on a critical fail.

Manufacturing process

Carve the wooden handle from oak or pine, or a similarly sturdy wood. The blade will be forged out of steel and sharpened to a fine point and edge. Affix together with heat, tar, and pressure. Then abandon it in a wild space for centuries letting the elements eat away at it until it is covered in rust and badly weathered.

History

Owned by soldiers and explorers of times past, old and rusted weapons abound in the land. You can find these fragile weapons eaten away by time and elements in old forests, abandoned fields, and high mountains of the world. Some may even have blood stained into their wood. At times they simply will crumble away upon being handled, so fragile from the decay. Other times, you may clean them up and sharpen them, blessed with a new weapon.
