Supernatural Investigation Agency
Who you gonna call?
"If you hear rumours of supernatural things going on in the neighbourhood, it's best to just ignore it and continue on with your daily chores. Unless you see folks dressed in all-black lurking around the area, then... well, you better start packing" -Ericles Kousapolos, Kounélian trader near the Realm's border. In the years following the creation of the Breach Security Council due to the results of the Breach Cataclysm, the fabric between the different realms and the material plane continued to decline.
Whilst anomalies and tears between the planes first only occurred within the most inner parts of the Realm of Monsters, the prolonged activation of The Gate of Monsters extended the range these anomalies would appear years after year. Though the Council had created a physical barrier to contain the Gate-Beings that spilled forth from these gateways, the fabric protecting the material plane had been stretched thin, making supernatural occurrences or sightings of Gate-Beings possible far outside the perimeter set up by the Council.
To combat this, the members of the councils created a special and secretive agency to combat these threats worldwide and keep the local population from spreading panic : The Supernatural Investigation Agency, or SIA.
Agents from the agency are placed in pretty much every nation on Oxum, ready to be sent out to reports or rumors of occurrences or creatures not from this plane of existence and deal with the treat as discretely as possible.
Whilst the public is aware of the SIA's existence and have a vague idea of their goals, the sighting of these agents often spark fear into the locals, as their presence often means something dangerous is lurking nearby.
Structure
Though the agency answers directly to the Council, it most often operates completely autonomous and responds to reports of supernatural activities world-wide.
It is lead by a Chief Director who oversees operations, major sightings and intel from all over the globe.
Each part of Oxum is divided into several regions according to the likelihood and severity of extra-planar events, all watched over by several agents, watchmen and cover-up agents. These regions' agents answer to a local Director who manages the distribution of local forces, organizes cover-up campaigns to subdue the local populous and decides which intel to go on gathered by the agency's Watchmen.
Individual Agents are tasked with investigating rumoured sightings of Extra-planar activity, asses the threat and deal with it accordingly. Agents' roles can vary from simple scouting missions, forensics, clearing corrupted land and eliminating supernatural beings. Agents use nicknames, fake backstories and try to blend in with the locals when gathering information, only switching to their all-black outfits when they need to enter affected sites.
Every member of the Breach Security Council has their own national branch, which is then further divided into divisions according to the nation's most common supernatural encounters.
Teams of agents can be comprised of agents originating from different branches, combining each of their expertise into a well-oiled machine.
Cover-up agents make sure local populations do not sow fear and panic within the larger population, Exterminators remove corrupted mass from infected locations, Field Investigators determine what threat they're dealing with while keeping a low profile...
Below are some of the Agency's branches, what they do, their gear and prevalent figures known throughout the agency.
The backbone of the agency and the first on the scene, Field Agents are jack-of-all-trades who are not specialized in any specific type of supernatural scenario, but have a basic know-how of dealing with most encounters. This branch is the most populated of all branches in the SIA and a good starting point for agents still searching for a different branch to specialize into.
Directive : Field Agents' tasks are to arrive at scenes of reported supernatural activities, investigate the site and attempt to determine the type of threat they are dealing with. Then, at their discretion, they may choose to deal with the threat themselves or report back to their division to request for more specialized agents.
If a Field Agent is unable to deal with a threat by themselves, they are tasked to secure the area and keep unsuspecting civilians from entering the locale.
Field Agents usually work in pairs, or as part of a team of agents together with members from more specialized branches.
If a quarry is too hard to handle for the Field Agents, the agency sends in their Venators.
Usually comprised of members of the Monster Hunters Guild or ex-bounty hunters, these agents specialize in tracking and neutralizing individual targets. These can range from lone-wolf supernatural entities, Gate-Beings or individuals who seek to undermine the agency.
Directive : Venators are tasked with tracking and eliminating high-threat targets causing havoc in populated areas. They are sent to the last-known location of their target to pick up their trail, then attempt to follow it to their destination. Once they are face-to-face with the target, Venators may deal with the threat as they see fit. If they are able to subdue their target instead of eliminating them, the agency will grant them a bonus in exchange for the information they gain from a live capture.
Venators are part of most agent teams as their skills are useful in many situations. But it is not uncommon for Venators to be sent out to claim a bounty by themselves, as hunting alone does have a fair few advantages when it comes top keeping a low profile.
Mediators
When a team needs to talk their way out of things, the Mediators take the stage.
Charismatic agents, these men and women make sure the agents get everywhere they need to be without rousing suspicion. They smooth talk guards, bribe local presses to control the flow of information and de-escalate situations.
Most of these agents have a history of wrapping people around their fingers, from politicians to charismatic street vendors.
Directive : Mediators are sent in to make sure the work of their teams stays under the radar, keeping panic to a minimum. While their team mates deal with the threat, the Mediators busy themselves with the local authorities and press, keeping their attention away from the supernatural and focused on less drastic issues.
Mediators accompany teams that operate within densely populated regions, or are sent in alone to clean up any political mess another team has left behind. If their team manages to get in and out without the locals being any wiser, the Mediator has done their job.
Purifiers
Agents rarely work alone, as do the creatures they are sworn to oppose. When areas get occupied by groups of entities, the agency sends in a team of Purifiers.
Very much a combat-focused profession, these heavily-armed agents know no fear and combat the extra-planar forces with extreme prejudice.
New candidates most often consist of veteran warrior, paladins and spellcasters, and each often specializes into dealing with a particular type of infestation.
Directive : Purifiers are dispatched to regions where supernatural or extra-planar entities have occupied the region after driving out the local population.
Their objective is to eliminate all entities and cleanse any corruption lingering in the area so that the local population may re-settle the region. Purifiers always work in teams comprised of at least four members, but can easily go up to a dozen fighters should the mission call for it.

Agency Branches and Divisions
The agency is divided into several divisions and branches, depending on their members' set of tasks or their staging area. Every agent of the SIA goes through the same basic training, after which they may branch out into several specializations.Every member of the Breach Security Council has their own national branch, which is then further divided into divisions according to the nation's most common supernatural encounters.

Agency Branches
Different branches of the agency involve themselves in different affairs that further the goals of the SIA. Some branches deal with supernatural occurrences in the field while other agents have a more administrative job. The agency deals with many different scenarios in a day, therefor needing a large cast of experts to deal with each case.Cover-up agents make sure local populations do not sow fear and panic within the larger population, Exterminators remove corrupted mass from infected locations, Field Investigators determine what threat they're dealing with while keeping a low profile...

Public Agenda
The Agency's primary directive is to safeguard Oxum and its inhabitants from outside threats. While this mostly applies from extra-planar threats, it also includes supernatural occurrences such as hauntings, corruption or neutralizing supernatural beings that pose a threat to the local population.
All assets are donated or funded by the members of the Council, regardless of the relations they might have towards one another. The Agency guarantees all members of the Council that their territories will be surveyed constantly for potential threats without causing panic among the population. They may increase or decrease the presence of Agency personnel depending on the current threat level of an extra-planar invasion, which is decided by a nation's appointed Director.

Assets
The Agency is equipped with gear provided by the members of the Breach Security Council designed to deal with several types of extraplanar events, anomalies and creatures.
This equipment varies from cleansing oils to remove corruption, runes to detect nearby Gate-Beings or specialized weapons to deal with very specific types of creatures.
Agents themselves are highly-trained individuals, mostly consisting of talented bounty hunters, paladins, spies and other professions that prove handy when dealing with threats from other planes. Joining the Agency is not that easy, however. The Directors only distribute invites to their training program to individuals that show great talent when dealing with supernatural threats, have skills that might prove useful to the agency or have assisted agents in the field with great success.
