Miriam was the rebellious daughter of the family who longed to see the world when a handsome, older man caught her attention. The two of them engaged in a whirlwind romance that ended up with Miriam pregnant before the two of them could get married. The couple eloped and went back to her husband's home in Ozelea. She gave birth to their first child, Razi Wood, and while the marriage was a happy one for the first two years, Miriam quickly realized she was just as stifled here as she was at home. She tried to stick it out for her daughter's sake, and she eventually found that she wanted to be more involved with her community. Her husband, however, urged her to stay at home and raise their daughter while he worked in the nearby Magnus-Monroe Mine. This happened several times until she could no longer force herself to stay at home and she fled back to Druelia, leaving Razi and Jedidiah behind. Though Miriam did write a few times to her daughter, Razi never heard from Miriam because Jedidiah had moved them to Honeyshore.
