Thorneheart Manor

Home to the Thorneheart Family

As seen in
It wasn’t long before she returned to Thorneheart Manor, the estate where she worked and lived. The home was one of the largest in Honeyshore, save for the coven’s benefactors. Most of the coven’s nine families lived in town, but the Thornehearts lived just outside it in exactly the type of home that befit such a powerful family. The house itself was three stories high, made of the white stone that only the best-made buildings in town were made of, and was surrounded by fields, walks and ponds with a forest bordering the property. Inside, the walls were white as were the marble floors, and the many large windows ensured the home was always brightly lit. The lady of the house had bouquets of flowers brought in to adorn every surface, so now it smelled like spring inside as well as out. Frigga’s room had been redone too, updated with new linens and furniture. She hadn’t been there for nearly four years and would be an official adult at the end of next month. It needed to be fit for someone on who so many expectations would be placed. Apparently. What that had to do with the wallpaper getting updated, Razi wasn’t sure. “Something something, only the best for my Heir, something or other, Frigga will love it,” the old lady had said. Whatever. (Blood and Thorns, Chapter 1)

The ancestral home of the Thorneheart family. This home served as the Honeyshore Coven's meeting place since it was built, and it hosts the coven for ritual and its bi-annual solstice celebrations. It is the second largest estate in Honeyshore, and half of the forest on its northern boarder belongs to the estate.

As part of the estate, Thorneheart Manor is surrounded by a large paquet of land. To the north is a pond and grassy field boardered by a small wooded area that stretches into the Magnus-Monroe Estate but effectively separates the two properties. On the east side is Frigga's Garden where it was formerly an underdeveloped lot, and one the west are the stables, loading bay, and work sheds that houses the estate's tools for its general upkeep. The road leading up to the Manor is mostly dirt and lined with flowers, but immediately in front of the home is cobbled.

The Manor is three stories high and has one main staircase that stretches from the ground floor to the third flood that is central in the home. The ground floor is where the kitchen is located as well as the home's hall, the sitting room, and the servants' quarters. The Estate Manager's office, supply closets, and the laundry facilities are also located here. The second floor is where the family bedrooms are located as well as the library, the Head of Household's office, school room, and a few guest rooms. This floor is U-shaped as the hall's high ceiling splits it so the bedrooms are on its right and the library, office and school room are on the left which is directly above the kitchen. The third floor is the smallest floor and it has only two rooms: a small workshop and the Magical Studio where the Honeyshore Coven conducts its meetings.

Purpose / Function

Thorneheart Manor houses the coven's First Family and also serves to host the coven's rituals and meetings.

Alterations

The home started out large but had an expansion to its servants' quarters approximately sixty years prior to the present day. In preparations for Frigga Thorneheart's return from school, Sapphire Thorneheart had much of the manor's interiors updated or refinished.
