Session XXIII: Return of Drakarion & Morvok's Tower Report

General Summary

Amelia's Old Friends

Amelia killed Motsu and Saszeih, which gave her two pieces of her soul.
When she put them inside the clock, she restored two pieces of her soul and saw the whole story of Motsu and Sazeih - how they got the book, ingredients and why they didn't remember anything.

Drakarion Dorn'usin

Adventurer's decided to spend some time in their personal goals. They've started with trying to find out where is Dorn's brother - he did no longer remember how he met him during their travels through desert, so the party explained to him what happened and that the key to finding his brother is now Rashid Al-Najjar, current Qadi in Zira.
They've met him and struck a deal with him to release Dorn's brother from his service - he agreed under one condition - they must bring him bracelet that belong to Malachai Sha'Gara I, the third Emperor of Al'takar. Rashid told them that he and his organization Guardians of Serpent's Blood collect such items.
He directed them toward Azuth, previous capital city of Al'takar, before the rebellion and civil war started and the city was reduced to ruin. He warned them that the city is under total control of undead but the relic should be in the crypts, below the city. Those crypt are abandoned for long time, even before Azuth, but some powerful mad being lives there.

Azuth

They've teleported to Azuth as Rashid gave them coordinates and they've started to explore the city and search for entrance to crypts. After a while and some time defending themselves against undeads, they found a cathedral, alongside with help of speaking with the dead.They've entered the ruins, where they fought Death Tyrant and met Tromax Torsil - mage who is seeking the creature Rashid warned them about. As soon as Borygen told Tromax about Peregos the Exiled, he canceled his plans and immediatelly teleported to his last known location - City of Glass.
They found the bracelet without the need to fought with the "doom" creature.

After bringing the bracelet to Rashid, he promised to return Drakarion within one week, which he fulfills. When his brother returns, they were able to read his mind through spellscroll he had with himself - even though he was confused and his memories were chaotic. They read his mind which contained chaotic memories that explained what happened to Dorn in Xyndrakull and why. Spider, who dominated him mistook him for Drakarion as he though the person he seeks was Drakarion - but it was Dorn. This whole misunderstanding started Dorn's journey as otherwise he would probably still serve in Xyndrakul.

Morvok's Tower

Then they spent some time preparing against Darian's nemesis - Morvok. They knew where his main tower is and so they planned to be able to beat him.
They found his tower and went safely through every room. There was several enemies, but few of them were more important than others.
In one room, they found Pit Fiend imprisoned in a shield, when they tried to identify the shield, he appeared and attacked them. When they managed to beat him, Borygen could, somehow, consume him as he did with Amir Azraq before. He himself had no idea why that happened.
Then they found Gruwyan and Tsuzsa, both were Morvok's students. Gruwyan managed to move his body into Iron Golem, making him very durable and powerful. Tsuzsa was resigned lich that was ready to left to nothingness as her life was fulfilled and her only friend - Acererak was already dead. Nothing held her here and she allowed them to destroy her last phyllacery. Gruwyan had opposite idea - he wanted to try his golem and attacked them - dying in the process.

Then they've found several other students Morvok had in the past and Morvok himself. He called Sakara, empyrean to his aid, using his "favor" in Auril, goddess of winter and Thrym, god of frost giants. When they managed to kill her, he asked them to ask for mercy, but they refused and the combat started. It started to appear they will lose as Kai was dead, Borygen imprisoned and so Amelia prayed to her god for his Army of Undead. Nezos answered and sent several of his undead knights alongside with leader to help her in battle. This was too much for Morvok and he had to teleport away.

They found dozens of books in his tower, mostly nonsense books but they also found Tome of Clear Thoughts, Ring of Spell Storing and chest, containing weird purple crystal that was infused with Void itself - it even started to spread as soon as it wasn't locked in Arcane Lock on 5th level. When they traveled to the past, they also found that this "chest" with its content was send to Morvok by "Tosior".

Then the tower started to tremble and they had to choose between teleport to Shadowfell, Mind Flayer colony or Cursed Mountains. They chose Cursed Mountains.
