Genies are the sanctioned spirits that can be summoned by the people of palimpsest. They get trapped into gems for the purposes of creating magical items. They are useful in arcane or militaristic settings.
Genies hail from the four
Cardinal Stars and are tied to the element that each of the stars is associated with.
Djinn: The Djinn from the Plane of Air are whispy creatures said to be made of cloud and to posess the strength of storms. Their lower torso trails away into a misty vortex.
Shaitan: Shaitan from the Plane of Earth appear to be carved from rock, and have glossy skin and glittering eyes.
Efreeti: The fiery Efreeti from the Plan of Fire are generally crimson skinned and wreathed in flames.
Marid: The Marid hail from the Plane of Water, and have blue-green skin and deep blue eyes that resemble the waves.
