Jackdaw Tailfeather
Jackdaw Tailfeather was a gangster in the lower slums. He was the husband of Trink Tailfeather and the mother of Krona Tailfeather, the defacto editor of the Undergazette. He and his wife were killed in a mob hit when Krona was was still a fletchling.

Personal history
As a gangster in the lower slums, Jackdaw and his wife, Trink, were frequently caught up in shady business. They ran a pawnbroker/dog fighting ring in what is now Candleman turf, and their tendency for cheating, gambling and getting into debt with the wrong people eventually led to a mob hit being called on them. Jackdaw and Trink both died, and their young son, Krona, was sent to live in an Orphanage.

Scraps: Jackdaw was rarely seen without his pet mutt, Scraps. A mangy mongrel with one cunning brown eye and one daft blue eye, Scraps occassionally fought in the dog ring that the Tailfeathers ran in the basement of their pawnshop, but more frequently accompanied Jackdaw as he walked the streets. Scraps was "turned into scraps" as a warning from the gangster who later ordered the mob hit that killed Jackdaw and Trink.
