Personal history
Johann(a) showed up in the Academic District not long before applying to work for Todfrey Laurence at Laurence's Barber-Surgery, with no family history and no known parents. (S)he found then-Subvizier James Baharat, who had ventured out to experience the city. The two fell in love and started a secret relationship. When the relationship was discovered by the Baharat Family, James refused to call it off what was percieved as a same-sex relationship with a commoner. James was bannished in a Whisper Vote on Goldday, Thiefmoon, 1312, and not long after was murdered by Todfrey Laurence.
After discovering that someone (Lindie!) had raided their rented room at Loveheart's Sweetmeats, Johann(a) fled.
