The Elven Baharat Family are one of two noble elf families. The Baharats (incorrectly) blame the Underhands for their banished son James's death, because Thornhill Underhand was conducting surveillance on James at the time.

Vizier and Viziera
Vizier Cardamom Baharat: As an aestheticist, Vizier Cardamom Baharat seems in many ways more harmless than many of the other Viziers, but he is also shallow and influenced by flattery. He has also, on occassion, made difficult, ruthless decisions to ensure the survival of House Baharat, in a court that is increasingly unfriendly to non-human familes. Perhaps most significant in recent times was his decision to call a Whisper Vote on his son, then-Subvizier James Baharat, rather than let the scandal of James's relationship with a male commoner be used by the court to target the family as a whole.Viziera Jessop Baharat: Viziera Jessop Baharat's passion is in the rearing of animals (and, more concerningly, animalfolk), and she has a Menagerie where she keeps her pedigree pets, including the magician Bunbun, Martini Hopper, who she purchased as a child and has cosmetically altered to follow elven beauty standards.
Subvizier and Subviziera
Subvizier Sumac Baharat: Baby Sumac Baharat was born just after the banishment of his older brother, James, making him not only the Baharat Subvizier, but also a "Second Son, born an Heir". This wording is a necessary component for the Patchwork Empire terrorists in their planned ritual to summon the Lord of All Divs. The Empire's attempts to steal Sumac for the ritual were thwarted by Katib Hugo Dargent, leading to the Mongrelfolk terrorist group to seek other options who might fit that criteria.Vizier's Other Children

The Baharat Estate was invaded by a throng of Mongrelmen, who attempted to steal the newborn Subvizier, Sumac Baharat. The invasion was delayed when the terrorists unwittingly met opposition from the Baharat's Bunbun, Martini, who was able to put up a bit of a fight and get word to her friend, Katib Hugo Dargent, before she was knocked out. Through a combination of being an extremely fast runner, and his ability to turn invisible, Hugo sneaked past the blockade of Mongrelmen who were preventing the Baharat's existing guards from entering the Estate and was able to snatch the baby Sumac Baharat from his crib before the Mongrelmen could take him, probably saving the life of the baby.Meanwhile, Hugo's fake-Concubine Lindie Asklepa managed to prevent the huge caskets of gunpowder that the invaders had set up around the estate from going off, with less than six seconds to spare.
