Tweezle

Tweezle is a self-taught ratfolk wizard who lives in the sewers of Palimpsest and sometimes informs for the Undergazette. He is trying to teach himself wizardry from abandoned and stolen magic books. Since Tweezle writes down every spell he can find, he has a bunch of illegal spells in his spellbook, as well as quite a few spells that he isn't powerful enough to cast.

Tweezle wears an extremely magical magician's hat, that he stole from the abandoned home of an eccentric wizard. It is mostly useless to him, since its enhancements pertain to metamagic, which he cannot use, but he wears it anyway, on the understanding that all wizards wear wizard hats. In reality, most wizards don't wear hats, and even those that do (like the Brasseyes family) do not wear pointed hats like Tweezle's, which is from a fashion even longer ago than the Gnomish lifespan.

Calliope: Tweezle has a pet rat familiar, called Calliope. Unsurprisingly, her alignment is chaotic neutral - why else would a rat grant magical powers to this guy?
