What was intended as a peaceful protest against the way the Emperor of Nagri dealt with the discovery of the Ark Ship, two weeks earlier, quickly turned into a riot in Edaris Pelu, which ended with nearly a thousand students being massacred by the Security Police.

What the students who participated in the riots didn’t know was that it was arranged by agent provocateurs from the Security Police, to lure those critical of the Emperor to show themselves and conveniently gather in one place, so they could easily be "dealt with."

On the same day, other "undesirables" were also dealt with in a ruthless and cruel manner. Among those was twenty four students suspected of being homosexual, who were rounded up at the university, taken by prison transportation to the boulevard, Glory of the Heroes, where they were hanged from lampposts, with signs around their necks, stating their "crime."

While the Nagri government denies the events took place, they are well known everywhere else, and were documented in the novel The Riots of Edaris Pelu by Tal Mapre.
