The Saucy Winch
Grayhill 's dockside tavern, noted for its abundance of fried foods and rowdy clientele. While your standard ale and chow are available (with a seaside flourish), the main attraction of the bar is the titular winch and its associated gambling. The tavern's owner, Resnek tends the bar and runs the kitchen, keeping the unruly masses in some semblance of order through his fearsome demeanor.
Each morning Resnek holds an auction for the use of the winch that day. The auction winner is allowed to attach the winch's hook and chain to any unclaimed object in the bay - many scavengers have located items they're curious to claim on dives, so the auctions tend to be hotly contested (if still relatively low price).
During the rest of the day, speculation abounds about what will be pulled in, and often a betting pool springs up.
At sunset, Resnek commands the winch to pull in the line. The winch is fairly powerful, so usually whatever it's been fixed to gets rescued from the depths. If the chain goes taut but doesn't move for more than a minute, Resnek will speak another command word to collapse the hook on the far end - no spoils that day.
