Pawn shop in Winthrop. It sells both mundane and magical items.
Purpose / Function
The pawn shop serves as a place where visitors and locals can buy used, and often unique, items for cheap or sell their unwanted goods. In addition, the shop also offers collateral loans to anyone who can prove permanent residence within the city.
History
Pawns and Kings is relatively new, opened by a family of gnomish immigrants from elsewhere on the continent. Formerly nomadic, they grew enamored with the city's extravagance and the visitors that it attracted, and opened the shop as a means to integrate themselves into the community and make a living. The owners, Jeska Spriggin-Lomari Salizi and Dali Contiero, have always been fascinated by unique objects and their stories.
The building that the shop is located in was once a supply post for the minors who lived in the area, but was remodeled for the pawn shop upon its sale. The couple obtained the building for relatively cheap in ]a city auction.
