    Origins

Fascinated by the limitless realm of dreams and liberated from the orthodoxies of wizardry, the Bloodline of Dreams exists as a cabal of poets, artisans, free-thinkers, and anarchists. When their ancestor Reveria the Dreamweaver bound her path with the arcane rebels of Magia in their shared pursuit of freedom and unchecked magical exploration, her exile to the north was not so much driven by noble rebellion than by curious hunger to explore and exploit enchantment's untapped potential beyond the limits of sanity and morality. Now, each a genius inventor or mad artist in their own right, Reveria's descendants revel in constructing exquisite fantasies, unsettling dreamscapes, and intricate constructs, turning their backs on the rational world at every opportunity for the unique pleasures and achievements of their own ethereal visions. With an obsessive fascination with the surreal, the extravagant, the anarchic and the decadent, Reverians weave a realm where imagination takes precedence over reality, and charm holds power over truth.

    Motivations and Goals

Reverians view conventional reality with contempt, theirs to rearrange as convenient. With their allegiance to Cruxis rooted in carte blanche to indulge a relentless pursuit of artistic and magical perfection, the Dreamweavers of House Magia embrace a decadent approach to their craft, seeking ultimate beauty in the chaos and madness of dreams. They constantly seek to craft the most exquisite simulacrums and dreamscapes, pushing the boundaries of their magical and artistic prowess in a relentless quest for aesthetic perfection. Their foremost collective ambition is the creation of a "masterpiece" dreamscape, a magnum opus of such surreal transcendant splendor that it subsumes the boundaries between reality and the realms of dreams and nightmares. In the meantime, they employ their dream-weaving capabilities to escape or reshape the drabness of the mundane world, their actions either guided by convoluted personal agendas or some grand collective visions gleaned from exploring the collective dreams of Cruxis. These ambitious aspirations, however, are not without their perils; the capricious nature of dreams makes for equally capricious schemes, and both fantastical gilded constructs or carefully designed phantasms sometimes slip beyond their control. Yet, Reveria persists, striving to blur the lines between dream and reality, pursuing a future where their fantastical imaginations supplant the waking world, and House Magia is hailed as the paragon of magical artistry in Pauza and beyond.

    Role Within Magia

Reveria, the sculptors of dreams and crafters of constructs, serve House Magia as inventors, artisans, interrogators, and envoys. Their unique aptitude for extracting secrets and implanting ideas through spell and guile positions them as skilled negotiators and mediators. A Reverian representative at any Magian negotiation is as much a subtle enforcer as they are an advisor, with the power to divine the thoughts and secrets of those present or nudge spirits in favor of Magia's interests. Beyond diplomacy, they act as a canvas for the artistic spirit of the House. While many Reverians hold a particular fascination for the darker recesses of the psyche, drawing inspiration from nightmares and the more unsettling aspects of the mind to control and coerce, others draw upon dreams to imbue constructs and simulacra with a vibrant breath of artificial life, infusing the halls of Magia with a blend of whimsy, creativity, and a tinge of the forbidden. This duality manifests in their philosophical roles. Reveria’s sorcerers often debate each other on the nature of truth, lies, and reality, pushing the boundaries of House Magia's collective understanding. With their innate abilities to manifest dreams and twist perceptions, Reveria stands as House Magia's philosophical core, a constant reminder of the flexible and malleable nature of reality beneath the supremacy of sorcery.

    Values and Beliefs

Reveria places paramount importance on unrestrained freedom of thought, creativity, and the subjective power of perception, where beauty is often found in the disintegration of conventional norms. With a worldview centered around dreams and their influence on reality, Reveria sees the objective world as a canvas, upon which the grandeur of dreams and fantasies can be imposed. They uphold the virtues of beauty, aestheticism, and emotion, and regard sensory experiences as both an art form and a communication tool. The truth, in their eyes, is subjective and fluid, largely insignificant, often second to the importance of perception and personal realities. This belief extends to morality, seen as a spectrum of colors rather than a stark dichotomy of black and white, where the macabre can be valued as much as the sublime. As skilled negotiators and mind manipulators, they thrive when crafting complex accords and compromises, favoring diplomatic resolutions over conflicts. Defiance against authority is inherent to Reveria's ethos, yet the bloodline maintains a respect for the collective vision of Magia, holding its preservation as a sacred duty. Still, they are unafraid of exploring darker depths, professing that nightmares, too, hold their own unsettling beauty. As such, Reveria personifies an elegant dance on the knife-edge of duality, walking the blurry lines of reality and fantasy, truth and lie, beauty and chaos.

    Leadership

Reveria's current leader, Marquion Reveria, known as the Dreamweaver, bears the Star of Reveria, an amulet of white gold with a constellation of garnets surrounding an oval-cut topaz. Unbeknownst to the House, this gem harbors a dark secret - the soul of Reveria herself, perpetuating her influence throughout her descendents. The election of a new Dreamweaver once a generation, an office held for life, comes with the transfer of the Star and the resulting possession of a new host, Reveria's clandestine guidance continuing unabated since the founding of Cruxis. The Dreamweaver, who masquerades as an elected leader, makes all final decisions in consultation with a council of Echoes, master enchanters who represent various spheres of influence, from the creation of constructs to the negotiation of deals within and without Cruxis. As such, the Dreamweaver and the Echoes uphold a facade of loose governance, while the undying mind of their ancestor pulls the strings from beyond the veil of dreams.

What you call real is just the dream we agree with.

"As the spires of Cruxis rose from the untamed land, Reveria, the Weaver of Dreams, took to the heart of Pauza. Clad in gossamer silks, bearing her Star upon her staff, she walked among common folk and kings alike, her enchantments subtly shifting the tides of fear and prejudice. She wove enchanting tales of the sorcerers' sanctuary, spun dreams of unity, and watched as her sweet words transformed into Pauza's new reality, and all who bore the wayward spark of sorcery turned their hopes to our new haven.

Inevitably, when doubts and denouncements stirred amidst our rivals, Reveria unveiled her most clever creation. Awoken by her sorcery, a hundred towering gilded constructs marched through the city's black gates, beings of dreams and metal, imbued with fragments of her own vast consciousness. Majestic yet disconcerting, beautiful yet awesome, their unflinching presence underscored the sorcerers' power. Reveria's golden automata stood beneath the warded walls of Cruxis, beckoning any challenger to our newfound freedom to try and take it."
