Custodian

This position is the only one of meaningful authority. He is the one who bought the entirety of the forest from Laplot via a legal loophole. Though it is a fairly isolated place, the custodian's laid back personality has permeated throughout the small population. Leading to a group of people who look for any reason to be festive.

A home grown detachment of giffin militia contracted from the annex to patrol the Center.

Main Center

A colloquial term for the actual town inside the Dark Forest. It is where the administration largely operates.

Annex

After a surprisingly friendly agreement, the griffins gave over a tiny piece of their territory where the forest touches the Mandelbrotian Mountains.

Points of interest

Mardröm

Mardröm is an old castle shrouded in perpetual mist and decay. It was originally built by Cerise and Lazzaris before the War of Earth and Water. When the meridian and called back their waters after a thousand years; the fortress, though throughly drowned, remained structurally sound. But the Diarchy never sought to reclaim their own property.

Climate

The ruin of Mardröm is located at 160 metres above the river Gallus, and therefore has some orographic lift, resulting in increased rainfall for the region. Its position on a hill lowers daytime highs compared to the town of Husby, while lows remain similar at the lower elevation.
Mardröm's elevated nature has an effect on the clockwise rainfall, splitting many fronts into two, and creating a micro-rain shadow. As a result, the climates right on the coastline of Maran and Mata become somewhat drier than the waterfront next to Mardröm's hills.
