Sofia Dažbog
Biography
Early Life
Sofia Dažbog was born at the stroke of midnight entering the tenth millenium FFC to two Kingdom(?) citizens. She is rather secretive of her upbringing, only giving a fleeting mention of the Fourth Wine War, and she moved to the hills above Warwikhamp in the summer of 9019 FFC with enough gold to purchase a home and land from the mayor on the spot. Being new to the town without a family was apparently difficult for Sofia, as she kept to herself tending to her terrace farm and building additions to the house until it was three times the size of the ramshackle building she first bought.
In the year 9022 FFC Sofia was seen visibly pregnant although no man was seen by her side and when questioned she either changed the subject or left the conversation entirely. Rumors spread of who the father was and when she brought a babe with grey skin swaddled in a blanket to the market those rumors only intensified.
Raising Miloš
Sofia named the child Miloš and began interacting with the community an increased amount. Despite the sometimes wicked accusations of bestiality or demon-bedding she remained firm that Miloš' father was a good man who was simply travelling and stayed with her for an evening. Her always sunny disposition and tendency to donate produce to the community slowly changed the hearts of even the hardest of townsfolk, and by Miloš' fifth birthday Warwikhamp regarded Sofia and her son as integral members of the community.
Her life changed in the summer of 9033 FFC when her she received a missive from Brogg, Chieftain of Alterporton, regarding a young grey-skinned boy who stumbled across the tunnels running under Warwikhamp and the surrounding mountains. Sofia saw this as not only an opportunity for her son to experience life away from a simple farm, but a chance to expand her flourishing produce business underground.
Sofia's terrace farm soon fed half of Warwikhamp and many travelling dwarves in the caves behind her house. It is said that the sun is always shining on the Dažbog farm, and when the moon is out it can't resist taking a peek itself. As Miloš grew into his own, Sofia grappled with the reality that he was bigger than Warwikhamp and when a carriage from The Didacy entered the small town, Sofia pushed Miloš to join.
Refugee
Shortly after Miloš' departure, the invasion by the Duchy of the Crag and Hrim's combined forces entered Warwikhamp, establishing a base of operations. At first Sofia and the townsfolk, led by mayor Maude Maneater, attempted to dispel the soldiers but were vastly outnumbered. The townsfolk were trapped in their own homes as they were occuppied. In Dying Light 9047, a group of Kingdom citizens from Balsearenta covertly infiltrated the town and quietly escorted the townsfolk out of Warkwikhamp. Due to her amiable relationship with the dwarves of Alterporton, Sofia led the entire town of Warwikhamp through the same tunnels discovered by her son to the dwarven city, saving the lives of the inhabitants, and the culture and legacy of Warwikhamp. Although it pained her greatly, Sofia set fire to the crops the townspeople could not carry to prevent the Crag from making use of them. The guerilla group who rescued the townsfolk set fire to the village buildings, killing the Crag soldiers inside and robbing them of critical infrastructure.
Life in Alterporton has been difficult for the people of Warwikhamp, but Sofia's optimism has been a guiding light through a tough time. The dwarves were unsure of allowing nearly 100 individuals to share in their already sparse food, space, and money, but through Sofia and Brogg's combined efforts an understanding was reached and their cohabitation has only incresed the goodwill between those who lived above ground and those underneath.
