Down on their luck and bumming it at the Skulking Lynx Inn on the remaining fortune of Halle Baudet after some wild New Years celebrating, the nameless group of adventurers were in danger of losing their lodging. The group consisting of Halle, Craig, Azna, and Amelia went out on their daily patrol looking for work to be done in the Duchy of Ulana's capital of Pekneth. While out, they came across a crier advertising work for a local wine magnate by the name of Regis out of Lost Wolverine Vineyard. Enthused by this, the group headed out immediately.

ExpeditionEn route to Big Bottle Vineyard, the group of adventurers encountered a duo of Lizardfolk arguing on the street. While they were looking for the quickest route back to Throne, the group recommended that the Lizardfolk seek employment with Regis as they would be afforded a bonus for each worker that returned. The Lizardfolk, somewhat intrigued, said they would check it out. Later down the road, the group encountered a strange magical desk which forced them to write their stream of consciousness. The group, disturbed, left this desk on the roadside.

Skirmish at Big Bottle Vineyard
Military: SkirmishAfter arriving at Big Bottle Vineyard, the group found it completely abandoned. Evidence showed that it likely had been empty for weeks, if not months, before they arrived. After exploring, the group made their way to the wine cellar where they encountered a person claiming to be Louis Carradin, the proprietor of Big Bottle Vineyard. After conversing briefly with this entity, it revealed itself to be an Elder Oblex using the form and memories of dead victims. The party aggressively fought this monstrosity as it continued to throw simulacrums at them.

An Unexpected Arrival
Life, Failure / MishapAmidst the ending of the battle with Oblex, a wave of magic emanated from the basement from which a Warforged individual fell directly into the center of mass of the Oblex. The battle continued and the Oblex was defeated, freeing the Warforged who immediately jumped at Craig in a panic.

Life, RelocationThe Warforged, after being calmed down by Halle's magic, revealed himself to be named Drifter. He was previously on a mission with a friend named Scipio. It also became clear that he was missing his left arm and was leaking profusely. He patched the leak and answered the group's questions.

Life, Organisation AssociationThe group investigated the abandoned Big Bottle Vineyard for a while longer, finding an illegitimate deed to the vineyard and some evidence that wine casks had been filled with Oblex ooze. On concluding that there were no survivors, they made their way back on the road to Regis. On the way there, they had a fateful encounter with Oswyn Godfrey Coronata.

Journey to the Chateau
Discovery, ExplorationEn route to the chateau, Oswyn conversed with the various members of the Opening Act. He offered words of encouragement to Amelia in her pursuits as a wrestler, to Craig in his search to make his family proud of him, to Halle in her musical aspirations, and to Azna in whatever it is he does. On reaching the chateau, Oswyn revealed that Constantine is, in fact, a vampire. The nature of the chateau reflected this as it was filled with vain references to Constantine as some kind of self-proclaimed deity of sorts. Through solving a puzzle referring to mythology of Termina, the Opening Act gained entry to the chateau.

Showdown in Chateau Coronata
Military: SkirmishOn entering the chateau, the Opening Act and Oswyn were assaulted by Constantine along with a cadre of vampiric minions which included a vampiric Thurkear. Constantine attempted to split the party by warping Amelia away from the rest of the group. However, through the teamwork of the Opening Act, the group managed to kill several of Constantine's minions and subdue Thurkear. When the final blow was dealt to Constantine, Oswyn revealed himself to also be a vampire. As the spectral energy of Constantine attempted to flee, Oswyn used a vampiric method to utterly destroy it.

A Curse and an Offer
Life, DeathAmidst the chaos of the battle, Amelia was severely wounded by Constantine. In the process, she was directly inflicted the curse of vampirism. While Constantine was defeated, he had inadvertently made her a direct member of his brood. Oswyn rushed to her side and attempted to heal her, but it was too late to counteract the curse. He informed her that it was likely permanent but he could show her methods to live with the affliction. After revealing this, along with his vampiric nature, Oswyn made the group an offer to work with him to ensure other vampires like Constantine couldn't hurt other innocents.

Vineyard Under New Management
Life, MilestoneAfter accepting employment under Oswyn, the Opening Act moved into the now-vacant Coronotta Vineyard. After spending a month renovating the chateau, the group began to feel more comfortable in their new position. Amelia became more acquainted with her new vampiric nature.

Life, SupernaturalOswyn informed the Opening Act of their first new: helping him to enforce and ancient agreement known as the Unseen Pact. He explained that the Hags of Berlonna Cove were apparently in violation of the agreement, and that the group must either bring them to heel or to eliminate them. The group set off to the city of Duster to accomplish their goal.

Visit to the Augur of Chalkcliff
Life, SupernaturalAfter an encounter with Exalted Commander Zarnod of the King's Bulwark outside of the sewers following their battle with the Hags, the Opening Act paid a visit to the Augur of Chalkcliff in an attempt to remedy Halle of her sudden visions of a Night Hag. Upon visiting, the group met Initiate Zahua and Augur Perugia Gloreth of Chalkcliff who conducted a series of readings on their behalf. Through some magical means, the Augur helped to temporarily suppress the visions plaguing Halle. After this, the group set off to return to the Chateau.

Life, CareerAfter spending some time at the Chateau while Oswyn was away on business, the chateau was visited by Zoggandak “Zog” Auchmoulty, a representative of the Artisan Guild of Sinderlan. He delivered to Craig a bill of debt following its amendment in response to recent market changes in gem prices. Zog also informed Craig that the Guild would be willing to forgive some debt in exchange for an off-the-books negotiation with a local ore magnate named Kilton Barhas who would be traveling through Ulana for the next two weeks.
