    The Circlecrash
    Disaster / Destruction

Didacy faculty member Throden examined the remains of Warforged 2 suspended on the balcony of the Grand Hall of Vortex, upon which a massive wave of energy emanated from Warforged 2's suspension sphere. Unknown to the individuals on site, this wave circled all of Perradin.
In its wake, every teleportation circle was destroyed in a fiery fashion. Small deposits of teleportation paint were simply burned in situ. Larger deposits of the paint reacted violently in explosive fashion. Dozens of individuals were injured or killed in blasts from larger deposits, most in magical storehouses or military stockpiles. As such stockpiles were exceedingly rare outside the Didacy, casualties from these explosions were at a minimum. However, many thousands more were presumed to have perished while mid-transit when the network was destroyed.   After the event concluded, the global transportation network was left in shambles. Individuals capable of establishing safe and stable teleportation service became in high demand. Other more conventional methods of transportation were strained under the increased demand almost immediately.

    A Grand Announcement
    Political event

The Grand Duke of the Crag, Reginald Pelk, summoned a grand gathering in the Crag's de facto capital, the Fortress City of Brine. Here, he planned to make a major announcement regarding the ongoing war with the Final Kingdom following the recent news that Balsearenta had fallen to Crag and Hrim forces. Many in the crowd and in the government expected an end to hostilities.   During the event, Pelk announced that Balsearenta was currently being plundered for resources and the Duchess of Portshilia had fled the Duchy. He then received a piece of information from an aide, after which he made an extremely surprising announcement that he was expanding the war. In this moment, Pelk officially declared war on the Duchies of Sindar, Illuma, and Tarburland. The attending dignitaries of Hrim and various members of Pelk's cabinet were shocked by this announcement as he quickly departed. The crowd, however, worked into a fervor seemed to support this new expansion of the war.

The team of Ducal Guard members departed on horseback to the city's northern gate where they met with the sole living witness of the breakout. The guards departed Brine in search of the fugitives, riding hard to attempt to catch up to the fugitive.

    Showdown at Mount Kalanth
    Military: Skirmish

After tracking the fugitives to a small ruin of a military outpost at the base of Mount Kalanth in the petrified Terge Forest, the Ducal Guard members engaged former Augur Lualla and the warforged Pyrite in combat in an attempt to arrest them and bring them back to Brine. After discovering them, it became evident that they had unearthed a Warforged Titan beneath the outpost and were using it to excavate further.   Lualla summoned a massive fire elemental to assist in the fight while Pyrite ordered the Titan to engage with them. One of the Ducal Guards, Break, managed to banish both the elemental and the Titan to harmless demiplanes for a short time. Meanwhile the rest of the guards engaged the fugitives.   Shortly after the Ducal Guards gained advantage, a massive tremor shook the area and a gargantuan Warforged Colossus emerged from the earth and turned its gaze upon the guards. The battle continued until Lualla was killed in a Wild Magic accident emanating from Rafi. After this, her body was destroyed by the colossus and some kind of energy was absorbed from her remains. After this Pyrite fell to the ground convulsing in pain.   Lualla and Devin were obliterated by the Colossus' incineration beam, while Rafi was crushed by the Colossus' hand. Break was then crushed upon the Colossus' face when attempting to sabotage it. Zeck was left alone and was prepared to accept death when time stood still.
