    The Circlecrash
    Disaster / Destruction

Didacy faculty member Throden examined the remains of Warforged 2 suspended on the balcony of the Grand Hall of Vortex, upon which a massive wave of energy emanated from Warforged 2's suspension sphere. Unknown to the individuals on site, this wave circled all of Perradin.
In its wake, every teleportation circle was destroyed in a fiery fashion. Small deposits of teleportation paint were simply burned in situ. Larger deposits of the paint reacted violently in explosive fashion. Dozens of individuals were injured or killed in blasts from larger deposits, most in magical storehouses or military stockpiles. As such stockpiles were exceedingly rare outside the Didacy, casualties from these explosions were at a minimum. However, many thousands more were presumed to have perished while mid-transit when the network was destroyed.   After the event concluded, the global transportation network was left in shambles. Individuals capable of establishing safe and stable teleportation service became in high demand. Other more conventional methods of transportation were strained under the increased demand almost immediately.

    Trapped Behind Enemy Lines
    Military action

The squad of Harwick soldiers were inserted behind Fen lines to the former free town of Skipleley to set up a forward operating base via an unregistered teleportation circle. Things quickly went awry when Circlecrash occurred, destroying their only link back to the Free Cities. It is here that they engaged Fen Bishop Zolin in combat, later fleeing an object approaching from the sea. Their objective quickly became to survive at all costs and make for The Hammer.

    Thrumming in the Night
    Expedition

Deep in the wilds of Pillarin outside the abandoned town of Nostoney, four members of the Harwick Trade Company's recon division are trapped behind enemy lines. After fleeing their deadly encounter with a Fen Bishop and seeing a large ship on the horizon approaching the shore, the team simply ran headlong to the west. While camping at night, they would hear a strong thrumming in the ground approaching their location. This spurred them on in their flight to the Hammer.

    Crossing of the Imperial Highway
    Expedition

As the Harwick Recond Squad made their way to the Hammer, they reached the ancient Imperial Highway of Pillarin, a typically busy trade artery. Before crossing, they encountered a family of Fen Aarakokra whom they successfully deceived into believing they were also Fen. They later met a Deep Gnome named Lichen who was not a member of the Fen. Living "off the grid," Lichen knew a shortcut through the forest to a bridge that he said should lead to the Hammer. After some convincing, he led the way to this shortcut.

    Clash Over Stabwound Gorge
    Military: Skirmish

After a trek through the forests of Pillarin, the Deep Gnome Lichen led the Harwick Recon Squad to Stabwound Gorge, which historically has never had a bridge constructed over it. There, they found a massive bridge across the gorge along with pristine military style camp in front of it which was mostly empty. Bell left the crew as they covertly encountered an Elf with a contingent of about two dozen soldiers, who was identified as "Lord Vulren." Vulren left the scene along with his soldiers, which the squad used as the opportunity to cross the bridge. While crossing, they encountered a Fen Gene Weaver, Carlotta, who mutated two soldiers to engage with the squad. The skirmish resulted in Carlotta's death, and the destruction of the bridge. Shortly after their victory, the squad witnessed a massive area of the mountain in front of them explode open.

    Enter: Jerome Ratgun
    Gathering / Conference

The Dwarf rogue Jerome Ratgun, while on patrol on the eastern slopes near The Hammer witnessed the explosion of part of the mountain, as well as the endings of a skirmish over Stabwound Gorge. Jerome linked up with the Harwick Trade Company Recon Squad as they struggled to get off of the remains of the bridge. He traveled with them to the evacuation entrance to the Hammer where they entered the city, being ordered to report to Elder Krenga with fresh orders from Hi Ba. En route, it became clear that the Fen were beginning to mass on the other end of Stabwound Gorge, along with the increasing sound of the deep thrumming they had encounted prior.

    New Mission in the Hammer
    Political event

Upon gaining entrance to the Hammer, the Harwick Squad reported to the leader of the city, Elder Krenga. Upon visiting the Elder, the squad was told that the Union Assembly and the Board in Hi Ba had an emergency mission for the squad. As the city was now being besieged by Fen forces, the Union and Company had a necessity to get a group of archaeologists out of the city as soon as they had completed their work. The squad, including Jerome, were ordered to meet the archaeologists the next day at the dig site to guard and escort them out of the city. Being offered an exorbitant sum, Jerome accepted while the squad heeded their new orders. The group was put up for the night in an upscale inn when they noticed a great shadow move in front of the breach caused by the Fen.

Fleeing the Fen and the Tomb Tapper
    Military: Skirmish

Upon reaching the dig site, the squad and Jerome linked up with the archaeologists who were excavating a pre-Free City ruin. They had unearthed a large stone door they were struggling to open. While the archaeologists worked, loud rumbling was heard through the cavern after which Fen forces emerged from holes bored in the walls. The squad engaged the Fen while the archaeologists fled deeper into the ruins and sealed the great door behind them. As the skirmish with the Fen continued, a creature, a Tomb Tapper, emerged from the ruins covered in the blood and viscera of the archaeologists. One dead archaeologist dropped a relic which Riley picked up; a puzzle cylinder covered with letters of the Common alphabet. Realizing the enemy was too great for them, the squad fled in a minecart which led them to the Underway along with thousands of refugees fleeing south.
