The Tzolgarin Kingdom of Ys (ʦolxɑrin)

The Tzolgarin Kingdom of Ys informally called simply Tzolgarys.

Comprising the entirety of the Ys region, the Tzolgarin (pronounced /ʦolgɑɹin/ in Raachern, but /ʦolxɑrin/ in Yssian) Kingdom of Ys is an empire that started off as the city-state conquered by Drennón Tzolagar circa 40 QA, which expanded outwards to unify all the lands held by ethnic Yssians and the various city-states established in the region. Although there is thought about Tzolagar wanting to consolidate all lands held by all Yssians--which would include former Northern Yssian colonies and Callessai lands--this did not occur. It is also believed that yeath-Qh'en, the Anarch of the Second Qh'énnish Rebellion, and Tzolagar had studied at the same mage academy and were allied to some extent. When they returned to their resepctive ancestral homes, the two shared a thoughts of unifying their regions under one ethno-state: Qh'énnshaiyn for the Qh'énns and Ys for the Yssians.   Tzolgarys the largest unified nation of Gruthe, Ptarshakk being secondary. It is bordered on the north by Chaalai; the eponymous Ysscht Sea to the south; Dhaoshee on the west; and the wildlands collectively called Suvata on the east. The Suvatan/Tzolgarys border is indistinct, unpatrolled, and largely depopulated. Ethnic Yssians have settled all around on either side on the border. Tzapli Yssians once had colonies in Suvata but they were all destroyed and lost. Drennón Tzolagar's unification campaign did not pursue the lost Tzapli Yssian centres in Suvata.

Structure

The previously separate Yssian settlements throughout the region, were incorporated into the growing empire and each indpendent city-state or minor kingdom became a satrapy under the rule of Drennón Tzolagar. Other than tribute, not much changed, and the satraps ruled much as they had before they yielded to Tzolgarys. The few Yssian settlements that resisted, were conquered and the entire ruling class were slaughtered, no man, woman, or child surived this purge. Tzolgarin loyalists--most often successful generals in Tzolagar's army--were placed as satrap over the newly conquered territory.   The Tzapli Yssians--long separate from most other Yssians despite relative proximity--had not been paritcularly bellicose or prepared for war, and most capitulated, having relied on the barriers of sea and sand to protect them from invasion. They were the last conquered and the most prominenent city-state among them the Citadel of Ysfet submitted and its ruling house, Achwat, was allowed to continue as pharaonic rulers in their lands, but as satraps under Tzolgarin rule.
