The Lands of Antruin

The lands of Antruin are dominated by the The Ether Spindle . Until Ethergenesis the lands now known as Antruin were merely parts of Imya, Seldacirca and Ly'veenir. The 3 nations had a cordial relationship with each other, and the aristocracy of each nation contributed to the "Mirror of Reality" project that would lead to Ethergenesis. After that terrible event, the lands around the Ether Spindle were corrupted beyond human habitability and infested with legions of horrors. Upon the discovery of the magic items from the area, adventurers began to explore and mount expeditions from the edges of the affected lands. As the adventurers began to organise into guilds, more and more people were turning up to explore the strange effects of the Ether Spindle and to plunder its riches. Even as adventurers were dying, more and more were turning up. Eventually the guild halls circled the land around the Spindle and, almost by accident, stemmed the flow of monsters into the surrounding countries. At some point, the guilds organised themselves together to form the Council of Guilds. More and more people were coming to the lands and towns were starting to pop up around the guild halls, supporting the adventurers was lucrative work. Eventually, the Council officially bought the lands from the 3 nations and founded the Antruin, Kingdom of Guilds.
