God is great, God is just.
Crowborne was previously the most contentious house in the frontier. Rumor states that the Maxdel had discovered Somnus decades before Crowborne but had hidden its existence waiting until they could covertly found an exclave there. House Crowborne pioneers discovered the world and immediately spent millions acquiring a charter to the world establishing it as their capital.
Senki Crowborne, and their close family had been raised as a Spacer Cultist secretly and in 4711 they ascended to the throne. Quickly they performed religious pogroms to create the first Spacer Cultist great house, by 4716 they had amassed a great collection of commoner spacers and ships. They waged war against their neighbors subjugating Heanthugs, forcing Maxdel to split out the Lomavilliers - which the promptly subjugated, and overrunning much of Abilot territory
For almost 2 decades the Ranet fought against the Crowborne Crusade in vicious battle and bloody ground assaults, millions of lives were lost on both sides until eventually the crusade was defeated and Kowloon mediated a peace arrangement. The Lomavilliers, Heanthugs and Abilot territory was freed, severe limitations on permitted fleet sizes for Crowborne was established, and finally a cadet branch of the Crowborne were setup as the new rulers.
Faced with revolt from Spacer underlings and bad relations with the rest of the frontier the new Crowborne rulers isolated them from the galaxy and established the blended Dreamer/Spacer Crowborne faith, much to House Ranet's great chagrin
To this day Crowborne has great draw to independent captains and faithful of both religions, many who find themselves wanted in the frontier end up migrating to Crowborne.
