The Outcasts Ethnicity in Post-Human | World Anvil

The Outcasts

Outcasts, as the group collectively identifies itself, number 2.33 billion, making them the second-largest group of post-humans on the planet (only cybernetic and augmented humans are larger as a group). They consist of three kinds of post-humans:
  • Those whose augmentations and technological implants that were infected by a malicious program dubbed the Zero Virus,
  • Those whose bioengineering and genetic makeup was altered to produce a socially undesirable outcome or, by radiation, chemical toxins, or other factors, suffer some malformation, and
  • Those whose psychic abilities resulted in predatory or nonconforming behavior and ability.
  •   The Outcasts themselves make no formal distinction as to who belongs among them. But colloquially non-Outcast groups have included Zombies, Mutants, and Vampires (including Vegan Vampires) as belonging to the Outcasts regardless of the individual's self-identity.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Pride in the authenticity of one's self is the primary value among social Outcasts. Thus it is often a sign of beauty that the more deviant from the traditional norms of human appearance and behavior, the more beautiful. This is particularly noticeable among the Mutants whose physical appearance can seem rather bizarre to most other humanoids.   Vampires, on the other hand, tend to be very physically attractive and socially graceful to most other humans. It is openly speculated that this is more to lure non-aberrant humans to themselves than to portray standards of beauty and fashion among one another.
