The Temple of Potestatem is notably the most permanent structure known to be dated. Every nine hundred years it returns the same as before. Yet as it passes through we see with it a malestrom of stone, overwhelming
Zeal, and always dozens of attacks on it's walls. What could this primordial structure that predates the gods be made of? Does it in fact change ever so slightly over time. I have taken it upon myself to carefully study the Tempels masonry as it passes through.
The temple has always been noted in texts throughout the eras to have a cylindrical structure, windows, a huge set of double doors, and a hole in the top and bottom. I have confirmed these facts myself several times. Notably after asking myself the above questions I did not several more details. Scratches, indents, missing chunks, and drawings on the external temple. I then observed the chunks following about the temple. dirt, stone,
Decoter, water, and so on. I confirmed the presence of Decoter through several methods you can reference in the experimental data section at the end of the document.
After two more passings of the Temple I confirmed several things. The debris orbiting the temple is approxinly 40% new material, including the Decoter that orbits it. I was also able to confirm several
missing pieces of material from the debris. I was only able to find one of these pieces orbiting in the Belt through great effort. Some of the previous injuries to the Tempels masonry also had reshaped, disspeared, or appeared since it's last sightings. This means that at the very least, it's shape is not permanent.
While it was a mirale I was able to find a piece of debris now in the Belt, I was unable to locate any metorite impacts that may have been from the Tempels debris field. I was able to work with several astronomers to watch a piece of the Belt fall from orbit and collide with Potestatem though. This gave me hope that my theories of the Tempels rare
Decoter were from people who had their hands on the stuff. So I began my search for the stone.
After several years of traveling after rumors I ended up in the
Hazfen. No matter where I went it seems the desert empire of the
Burgeonend was always where the stone seemed to be. Much to my displeasure though I confirmed that the material I sought after, was considered heresy in the Supremacys borders! Thus my search was slowed greatly. I eventually got my hands on some when I was chatting with a Burgeond Descendant by the name of
Lyle Yith. He had purchased some of the stone at market when a adventuring party had captured it from a band of
Nagpako necormancers.
The stone was crystlaine in texture and shape. It was mostly transparent yet fairly opaque. Seeing through several layers of the stone I could see a source of light inside the stone and wobbled slightly. Lyle informed me the stone is said to grant powers to those who have them. He also stated this is yet to be proven to himself but he has seen a few adventrers greatly improve in renown, or disspear mysteriously, after setting out on quests for the stones. I will note this but my focus lies elsewhere.
With Lyle's permission I attempted to damage the stone through spellcraft, mundane, and specialized mans. Nothing I could produce effected the stone. I am no archmage or warlord barbarian but the stone proves greatly resistant. Though when I hold the stone I get the feeling I am missing something.
The following part is not printed, but pencield in by hand
Dearest reader. I am not long for this world. After a night of pondering the stone I thought of my lifes purpose in research and fell asleep. I dreamt of a great library. After which I woke up and the stone was gone. My hands glowed and I felt renewed. I looked about for it, assuming it had dropped. I could not find it. Lyle found out quickly and has betrayed my purposes to the Supremacy's Ficium priests. I rush I no not where. Into the dune sea to my north in hopes of losing them. A Burgeond is chasing me as well!
I found something out here. Just in time. The longer this stone sits in my heart it seems the more easily this Burgeond can find me, it's like they can sense it. I only say this cause the Burgoned will not stop stating that I, "Grind on their senses like sand in the throat." I guess I was running somewhere for I found a stone door that opend with my hand placed in it's surface, my chest glowed and pulsed and the door opened with a yellow flash. I entered in and lost my pursuers. Where am I?
A great set of stone doors lays down here. I will attempt to enter them, nothing safe waits for me outside. I will leave this book outside the doors should anything happen. I say this to you reader. The supremacy is right to fear the stones. I believe anyone who can fuse with them will be granted access to the Tempels power. If one can improve their connection, they may ascend just as the ancients did before us.
