Ficium
Ficium describes the theological aspects to the Hazfen Empire. Leading this order is the Cadence. A highly respected Burgeonend rules as Cadence, currently Saric Teth is the Cadence.
Advising and dealing with smaller issues, Synod of Wisdom members aid the Cadence. Half to a two dozen Burgeonend will make up the council.
Sacrificing one's own time for the empire is the core of their beliefs. Through creation, projection, and protection one can achieve honor and even reward.
Structure
Burgeond as a council, advised and judged by the Cadence convene and consult the sands, gods, and each other. Below this council are the Thousand Dunes who act as local leaders to the people.
Culture
Sacrifice and commitment of time. Through the loss of one's own time to those in authority and those around them, can one truly spend what "Grains of Sand" they have in life well. Selfish pursuit, as well as lazing in the noonday sun, are insults to those who sacrifice for you atop the pyramid.
Public Agenda
The Ficium faith hopes to make tomorrow brighter dawn. Through construction, research, effort, and will Hazfen, her people, and the Burgeoned will lead us to a wise and controlled world.
Assets
The greatest asset of the Ficium faith is the The Hourglass. Huge power is bestowed upon individuals by The Hourglass and thus the leaders of the faith are often those who are near to or have been blessed by it. Most materials, large structures, and cities are run by the faith as well, thus they are in control of most aspects of life.
History
Rising in the face of the final days of the calamity when the Perisian Empire was long dead the faith committed a starved desert people to giving their lives and remaining time to stopping the calamity. Through hard effort they released the power The Hourglass only to find the beast of the calamity already slain. Thus the faith stayed and the people used their new ideals, power, and region to establish a calm amidst the sandstorm of the first years of the fourth era.
Mythology & Lore
Burgeonend who die or go to the outer become members of the Crenscendite's. This pantheon of historical Burgeonend are given aspects based on their deed in life. Living long lives, these histories are often abbreviated to their greatest deed and several minors ones. The original Burgeonend movemake up the core pantheon with all of their greatest deeds being those of self-sacrifice. Each act, from militaristic to genius shapes who they are seen as.
Divine Origins
In the last years of the Calamity, the first Burgeonend stepped forth from The Hourglass's radiant dawn. There they did begin the war to fight back the horrors of the desert. The Sigh Dunes spat forth their endless horrors, spawned from the Destroyer itself. At the height of this dune scorching conflict, the abyssal rifts began to multiply across Potestatem. The Destroyer's final attempt at a complete annihilation of Potestatem. The first Burgeonend split themselves to fight both fronts, One to the south of the Hazfen river, the other to the north. With endless droves of mindless beasts on both end, the people wept in fear. The Hourglass's power proved greater than ever expected. Burgeonend magic annihilated droves of the monsters. From powerful elemental feats, armies of allied undead, mass healings, genius tactics, and perfected bodies, all came together to make the impossible destruction of an abyssal assault break. The Sigh hoards were split but not destroyed. The desert had expanded twofold during the conflict as the world was drained of life, and huge swaths of energy devastated the environment.
All three Burgeonend survived. The brothers and the first Cadence rebuilt the people. The first Cadence laid down his life to seal Ampoule as the Hazfens heart. The remaining brothers still watch over us today.
Cosmological Views
Look about you, do you see the gods with the people, do you see peace and endless prosperity? No! The gods are finite and gave of their endless power to create us from the elemental chaos. This sacrifice has led us the opportunity to exist, flourish, and worship! Their wisdom overpowered their desire and through that, they gave up an eternity of strength, for an eternity of leading a people they made. Should we not do the same? Give your life, your time, your eternity, for the world shape and held by the gods! Your hourglass is already inverted within you, it pours your sun sand into the abyss, never to be seen again. Let that sand fall and bring light into the world! Whether it be in , let your sand not fall wasted. Each grain is a gift!
Tenets of Faith
Sacrifice, you have one hourglass soul, it fades with its pouring out. Give through creation, protection, or projection. Create wonders, comforts, tools, and knowledge to be passed down. Protect what is threatened by those whose hourglasses are filled with black sand and wish to smash yours. Project your power into the world, bring the noon day desert sun to all, let not just your own dune be safe and prosperous.
Worship
Tribute your sands to the desert. The effort, sweat from the brow, and brain bring glory to your gods. Create cities that worship. Protect that which enlightens. Project these beams of light to the world. Through these tenets you can uphold the faith.
Each year rest rose to the top priority. Attend the festivals, enjoy what lifetimes of hands have created during these festivities. Listen to your Burgeonend's wisdoms when they speak on these days of rest. Anoint yourselves in oil and partake in the rivers cleansing flow. Lastly, sharpen your own home to remain refined, dress to show foreigners we are a people of taste and culture, together these things worship the Burgeonend of today and yesterday.
Priesthood
Through only time and giving of grains does one learns the wisdom to guide others. Even fewer still have their hourglasses recrafted, filled with new sand, and resealed. Listen to your Burgeonend who has spent endless pourings of sand crafting their mind to live for sacrifice, and not for self.
Granted Divine Powers
Those who spare no grain of sand for the self, gain overfilling time. The sacred, the immortal, the ancient ritual of Inversion creates a hallowed body. Amplifying what one used to sacrifice, and compressing, strengthening, and polishing that which they were not given, one's inner hourglass is inverted. Mind, body, and soul all become perfected, sand does not leak from the body. Eternity now before the one, a great weight falls upon the mind. The weight of eternal servitude. Service, and possibility now without limits often makes Burgeonend operate beyond the ideas of mortals. They plan lifetimes ahead with vast intellect. Unforseen threats are suddenly thrust into the light, far before they are ready to be confronted. Yes, Burgeonend
Political Influence & Intrigue
Ficium leads the people! Shallow empires draw themselves to base motives like power, greed, and revenge. Through the leadership of the Burgeonend we are led by wiser traights. Their minds drift to ancient heroes whose acts taught us what truly matters in life. Prospering the future and improving today will lead to a brighter world. So the leaders of our faith, lead the country as well. For they should always be one in the same. Ideals should not be separated from reality!
Sects
Sadly the Burgeonend's vast knowledge can be misunderstood. Through lifetimes of cultivation, we often fall short of understanding them. Listen to your local Burgeonend and do not be surprised when another preaches something else during the festivals. Each puts a different strain on the tenet's complex details. This is merely to bring the needs of their region into neat dunes. For a place of harsh winds will need greater sacrifice than one on the oasis's border. They understand this and you too must, traveling the desert will make this known to you.
Sacrifice in the dusk, for a better dawn. You have but one hourglass. Let your sand fall on the right dune. Sand should reflect the sun. the oldest dunes protect the youngest. The desert carves the world. Each grain of sand, a promise.
