Berry Bomb Broadhead
Basic Information
Anatomy
Wyvern like in their forelegs sprouting wings and hindlegs being bent and ending in a pair of claws. Only a small spine and hollow skeleton holds the fairly simply body intact.
Genetics and Reproduction
The creatures lay eggs inside of hot, damp, enclosed environments, whether that be a jungle pond or a corpse. Over the course of a ten-day, a large bush will grow from the egg and begin to produce the berries that await ingestion by a larger creature. Once eaten the berries will implode inside the creature and each berry will create 1-8 minuscule worm-like babies who burn their way out of the creature.
Growth Rate & Stages
Living inside their prey for two tendays the new wyrmlings will char and eat at the corpse then plant their own seeds in it and find or found a hive. They will grow from the size of a human fingernail to a full hand in about three tendays. Whereupon they join the hive.
Living for up to five years the small creatures rapidly breed and eat. Using their wings they rotate what part of the jungle they live in. Without proper resistance, many regions will be set upon by a swarm that leaves pockmarked ashen waste in their path. Beautiful orange berry bushes awaiting their next victims as they grow from the dead.
Ecology and Habitats
Favoring Jungels and moisture environments they live often in rock, dirt, or near watery environments. It will burrow into its area and use its weak flames to char the area around it into a charcoal-like area that it can keep warm and solid.
Dietary Needs and Habits
As time progresses the creature will hunt using its weak firebolt-likeability to kill, cook, and eat larger prey. Solo individuals will watch over growing berry bushes of the outer hive and ignite signal flare like vines to signal the hive of prey. Swarming larger prey they will devour and implant up to large creatures. Their moist environments prevent them from destroying the wildlife as is often seen when the creatures find their way onto farms, forests, and plains. Fully carnivorous like the draconic ancestors they eat only meat.
Biological Cycle
Living as an adult for about four years the creatures await in their last year of life an opportunity to die properly. When crushed the creatures detonate like grenades. Elders of a hive will use themselves when an especially dangerous foe finds a hive to become tiny bombs and ram into the foe, exploding and dealing several times more damage than their bolts ever could.

Civilization and Culture
History
The creatures are said to have first been noted when a swarm of Green Orc's delved deep into the Eastern Foisham Jungle and were set upon by a hive. The orcs returned covered in blisters and even some missing limbs or crater-like wounds. A visiting adventuring orc noted the wounds and location and went to investigate. After several attempts, he managed to get a few specimens which he brought back to the Arcane Plains for investigation. Several metallic and crystal dragons commented on the species has shown a few generations back after a particular experiment with combining a red and ruby dragon went poorly. The sparks of the said experiment were harvested and gave birth to this unexpected result. They seem to have found a niche in the ecosystems of the jungles now.
